The Team
The capabilities within the Clara Analytics Team are vast as they are unique: from Innovations – spearheading the creation of audit applications such as the Inventory Count Tool, and Confirmations Tool – to the performance of D&A procedures by the ERP,
General Ledger and Bespoke capabilities. At the face of the team, the Business Relationship Group bridge the gap between audit teams and D&A specialists – providing one point of contact for D&A interpretation, queries and support.

Whether it involves providing Skype workshops to audit teams, presenting a Proof of Concept to leadership, or engaging in in-depth analysis using our market leading technology capabilities, the Clara Analytics Team leverages a wide variety of skillsets. We’re flexible, too. The Clara Analytics team straddles different KPMG office locations – with large hubs in Leeds, London (CSQ), Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh – all leveraging skype to communicate remotely where needed.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a brand new capability within Audit as we establish an Excel Modelling capability.

As an Assistant Manager within the team you will be responsible for coaching the junior colleagues working on the mailbox, they will determine the scope of services required, conducting consultations with the Audit team and arranging for the operational delivery team to undertake the required reviews.

At times you will need to review the correspondence and support them on escalated queries and issues. You also have responsibility coordinating the available resource within the operational team, delivering the review of Audit spreadsheets, managing their allocation against their capacity and our changing client needs. Responsibilities will also include reviewing work carried out by the operational team.

The Role

-Oversee the mailbox’s day to day running, supporting junior team members.
-Review processed requests and correspondence.
-Hold consultations with Auditors regarding the audit of spreadsheets.
-Co-ordinate operational teams’ capacity both onshore and offshore to process requests in line with agreed timelines.
-Stakeholder management, including but not limited to: regular dialogue with audit teams and management to manage expectations on deliverables; act as an escalation point for your analysts;
-Reviewing the work performed by analysts and assistant managers in the team to ensure the quality of the output is appropriate. The work performed will be the audit of spreadsheets.
-Develop and implement best practice to ensure that ‘quality’ is embedded within all activities performed by the team.
-Acting as a coach & mentor to more junior members in the team.
-Building and managing excellent relationships across a range of engagements.
-Developing internal networks and maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues across KPMG.
-Work closely with management to ensure proposed solutions and delivered outputs are consistent with our regulator’s demands and the firm’s quality standards.

The Person

-Advanced knowledge of excel including writing complex formulas and VBA
-Stakeholder management
-Experienced in training and developing junior analyst skills.
-Excellent oral and written communication skills and confidence to promote and present value of solutions.
-Excellent organisational and project management skills and experience of leading teams and working independently.
-Ability to function effectively in challenging situations/circumstances.
-A flexible approach and ability to multi-task, manage time effectively and handle tight deadlines.
-Proven experience of working within a fast paced environment with conflicting priorities and deadlines.
-Ability and willingness to network both internally and externally with key decision makers.
-Pro-active and innovative in approach.
-Ability to work as part of a wider national team spread across the global network.
