The People Services emxsolutions team has a need for resource to assist with the design and implementation of client flexible benefit schemes. As such, an opportunity exists for a Manager who will be based in the London Canary Wharf office.

The permanent role will be responsible for the delivery of the technology (communications hub, flexible benefits and TRS tools) required for each client project in a wide variety of sectors.

Flexible Benefits (Flex) is a key growth area for their People Services practice. The base model for the business is well developed, but recent wins and the pipeline are extremely healthy and the business is growing rapidly. This is a very exciting time to join this already successful team.


The role requires an understanding of both the Flexible Benefits market and the technology requirements to compete in this area. The role will require the candidate to lead parts of and input into the technology roadmap.

The candidate will need to be able to understand the overall architecture of how a flex system works as well as the development and release processes.

The role also involves:
• Ensuring that the team provides a high quality service to KPMG’s prospective and existing clients including all aspects of technical Flex design, business analysis, set up and configuration of each site, end to end testing, data manipulation and ongoing administration services and undertaking a range of tasks during the lifecycle of each project, this includes:

Project Management
• To ensure that work is carried out to a high quality and in an efficient and profitable manner.
• Ability to think ahead and think of possible project pitfalls.
• Ensure that the launch/annual renewal are project-managed according to set timescales agreed with the client.

Online System Implementation
• Oversee the end-to-end system implementation process.
• Manage the product roadmap and development backlog.
• Manage the software development teams (both UK-based and off-shore) in an Agile manner.
• Manage the technicians in the hosting infrastructure.
• Ensure that all technology modules are developed to be compliant with relevant legislation and HMRC regulations.

Scheme & Benefit Design
• A detailed understanding of how Flex design can be translated into a technology output. A great part of the role is to ensure that the ongoing Flex design for our clients is best structured to address the issues they encounter.
• Working with the client teams to help them consult on best methods of delivery for flex schemes, including scheme design, technology and administration.
• Providing insights and guidance to clients based on technology expertise and strong industry knowledge.

Team Strategy & Development
• Act as leader and role model for more junior team members/
• Work autonomously, taking complete responsibility and ownership of projects.
• Delegate effectively to junior team members and developers external to the team, taking responsibility and accountability for their work and performance.
• Input to business and team strategy/development.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will possess the following experience and skills set:
• Proven track experience working in a technology role, particularly in tightly regulated environments or businesses.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to manipulate and interpret data effectively, able to analyse, interpret, and manipulate large amounts of data in Excel.
• Good experience at problem-solving and trouble-shooting software systems.
o Able to analyse, interpret, and manipulate data on a DBMS/MS-SQL Server.
o Ability to understand and interpret stack traces will be beneficial.
o Ability to review source code to understand business logic will be beneficial.
• Good understanding of the following languages: SQL, HTML/CSS/JavaScript/JSON, and XML.
• Good understanding of the following technologies: Microsoft .NET, Cloud hosting/ infrastructure, and Single Sign On (SAML).
• Able to work independently and in a rapidly changing environment, while balancing multiple concurrent high priority tasks, in order to deliver on agreed timescales and within expected quality standards.
• Strong project management skills using Agile methods;.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Confidence and credibility to manage relationships with demanding senior business people and other teams.
• Considerable experience of implementing technology system(s) or Flexible Benefits scheme(s).mini.
