Summary of role purpose:
This Business Intelligence and Data Analytics role will a focus on developing analytics solutions as part of Clara’s Digital Studio capability – where we focus on the creation of digital solutions and automation for our audit practice.

Our unique selling point is combining audit expertise with the latest low-code app development technology from Microsoft. This allows us to truly understand the challenges our Audit teams face every day and to rapidly develop digital solutions that make auditor’s lives easier.

This role will build data analytics and reporting solutions that provide data-driven insights to our Audit practice, supporting the business in decision making to improve audit quality and drive sustainable growth.

Role description:
- Full stack BI developer working on building bespoke solutions.
- Developing data visualisations and dashboards to display analyses to end users.
- Building ETL processes to process and load data ready for presentation in dashboards and visualisations.
- Building data models.
- Working together with business analysts and user experience designers to understand the needs of the business through workshops and other discovery activities.
- Working in an agile environment and applying design thinking principles, as part of the project teams to develop our solutions.
- Developing solution features, following development best practices and architecture guidelines.
- Using data analytics tools and techniques to identify patterns, extract outliers, and perform analyses to address our customer needs.
- Testing and validating solutions.
- Undertaking technical training to acquire and demonstrate expertise in data analysis and design & build of solutions.
- Testing and validating solutions, leveraging our Quality Assurance framework to deliver high quality output.
- Keeping abreast of developments across the data and analytics landscape, with the desire to translate the latest techniques and technologies into our project outputs.
Stakeholder Interaction & challenges:
- Participating actively in and contributing to workshops and sessions with our customers.
- Coordinating frequently with other project team members.
- Ability to select the right type of visual and dashboard design to convey a story with data and allow business users to extract insight from their data.
- Ability to design and implement consistent design patterns, palettes and layouts for dashboards and data visualisations.
- Knowledge of data warehouse architecture and ETL/ELT design.
- Experience of the development lifecycle for business intelligence including at least some of the following:o Requirements gathering,
o Business analysis,
o Modelling data,
o Delivery of infrastructure and tool implementation,
o Solution design and delivery,
o System and unit testing and user acceptance testing.
- Aptitude for analytics and identifying patterns within data to generate business insight.
- Data manipulation skills - manipulating and cleansing large data sets to ensure that data meets standards and objectives.
- A desire to understand business problems and to evaluate the results in a business context.
Technical skills:
Candidates must be able to demonstrate a number, if not all, of the following skill sets over numerous number of years of on the job experience:
- Experience of developing high quality SQL (or similar) code and good working knowledge of SQL concepts such as stored procedures, functions, analytical functions and common table expressions
- Proven experience in at least one data visualisation tool, preferably in Microsoft Power BI, but Tableau, QlikView / QlikSense is also relevant.
- Good knowledge of database and data warehouse design paradigms including 3rd normal form and Kimball (star schema) dimensional modelling.
- Experience with Azure cloud environment and components such as Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Dataverse (Power Platform).
- Experience of SQL and database performance optimisation.
- A degree or professional certification in a relevant field, such as Data Analytics or Computer Science.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to explain technical analysis to a non-technical audience

- Experience of solving issues and dealing with the uncertainty that can arise in project situations, including having a tenacious problem solving and can-do attitude.
