Role Purpose:
This role is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and client centric Performance Development (PD) specialist with exposure to working in a complex, ambiguous and fast changing environment. , Substantial experience and expertise in PD methodology and strategy, including experience of leading PD activities and driving culture change to enhance the employee experience are critical. The role holder will have a proven track record of successfully designing, communicating and delivering market leading PD interventions that support a high-performance culture and enable high performing, high potential talent to fulfil their aspirations.

The role will report into the UK Head of Talent & Performance Development. The role holder will be responsible for the design of a key strategic PD priority which has a firm-wide scope and impact. This role requires the ability to manage and leverage relationships with key stakeholder groups to collaboratively drive a culture where colleagues and the business have the right tools and resources to manage, develop and retain their diverse talent.
Significant experience in influencing and building partnerships with multiple senior stakeholders at all levels and setting out priorities is critical. Being comfortable managing through ambiguity is necessary to shape and set the direction. There will be considerable hands on design, development and delivery required.


Key Responsibilities:
- Use SME knowledge, experience and thought leadership to develop and design components of a key strategic project from proof of concept to timelines, resource and budget planning
- Use expert knowledge and understanding of performance development best practices and external insights to help us shape our solution and overall approach to the project
- Develop a deep understanding of KPMG to articulate and implement best practices ensuring the outputs of this project align to KPMG’s business vision, strategy and values
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders within the business to ensure the project outputs are aligned to the needs of the business and are fully integrated with wider PD and Talent activities
- Build, manage and leverage relationships with key stakeholder groups (e.g People Partners, COOs, Employee forums and wider people function colleagues
Experience
- Centre of Expertise/Advisory/Consulting/Business Partnering – Demonstrated excellence in partnering with the business in a commercial environment with a variety of senior stakeholders at all levels to scope, plan, develop and deliver PD projects with demonstrable business impact. Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive an agenda of change. Being able to shape and manage a budget to deliver focused value for money and business impact will be important.
- Design and Development – Significant hands on experience in scoping, planning designing and developing PD solutions. Able to lead/direct development efforts.
- Impact/Evaluation – Understand how to design/deliver solutions which transfer impact to the business and produce longer term results. Experience with tracking and reporting results. Awareness of measurement systems.
- Thought leadership and innovation – Externally networked, up to date with the latest external best practices and thinking. Ability to take external insights and shape solutions that help KPMG’s magnet for talent strategy.
- Leading People – Experience in leading, managing and developing teams and ability to work independently with minimal day to day guidance
- Communication – Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Skills and Qualifications
- Subject matter expert in Performance Development
- Proven aptitude in developing thought leadership and innovative ideas to support our diversity and inclusion agenda so that it is embedded as part of core PD practices
- Strong external/market awareness, networks and understanding of the broader industry trends and challenges and the role PD can play in an organisations success
- Demonstrable track record of having improved company/firm performance through the successful development and implementation of PD initiatives
- Ability to prepare, execute and deliver quality multiple workstreams on time and within budget
- Outstanding problem solving abilities; successfully led cross-functional projects
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills which enable confident, compelling and successful interactions with stakeholders across a complex partnership group
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to articulate the vision and values, and drive performance in support of business objectives
- Proven understanding of data analytics and ability to deliver PD initiatives that are robust and measurable in terms of successful business outcomes
- Commercial acumen and creativity to find cost effective PD solutions
- Comfortable with ambiguity and working through it
- Able to independently analyse and resolve situations whilst managing risk
- Educated to degree level or completion of a recognised related course(s) or accreditation(s) desirable
