Job DescriptionThe team

The Technology Governance Analyst role forms part of the Technology Governance Office within IT Services and is a direct report to the Technology Governance Office Manager. The role of the Technology Governance Analyst is to support the Technology Governance Manager in developing and maintaining an effective governance framework across IT Services covering Operations, Programme & Project Delivery, Architecture & design engineering, Service Delivery Management and Integration and Governance, to ensure that the leadership team have the tools and the insight to successfully manage the entire portfolio.

- Supporting the build of the IT governance and management information capability, and to oversee the resulting processes
- To ensure the ITS Leadership Team are equipped with the right information at the right time to enable effective management and decision making
- Within the areas of responsibility, work with the IT community as a whole to implement continuous improvement
- Within the areas of responsibility, define and shape IT processes and systems so that information is gathered reliably and efficiently and applied to best effect
- To respond to ad-hoc demands related to governance and reporting activity and support senior management as business needs change
- To build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Support the strategy of transitioning the ITS group to become business outcome driven
- Support the effective financial management and insight across the ITS function

Key Accountabilities

- Support the Technical Governance Manager and the Finance team in the development of the controls and reporting to drive effective financial budgeting and control
- Maintain the ITS Tracker to highlight key operational and project related activities, their impact on our business, any dependencies and areas of risk
- To support the management of the Leadership Team meeting
- Work across the functions in ITS , to build a fit for the future reporting governance, driving the business focus strategy
- Work with the central PMO function to support in the set up of the internal ITS project approval process prior to group submission
- Within the areas of responsibility, support the development and communication of standard templates
- Maintain and ensure fit for purpose, the Leadership Team collaboration areas
- Support the PMO to implement and run key cross portfolio disciplines: risk management, schedule management, issues management and dependencies management for project management
- Maintain ongoing relationships across both internal ITS teams but also external teams
- Support in the management of Air Traffic Control to drive insight into the health of the ITS portfolio
- Support the Technical Governance Manager in driving the benefits of the Technical Governance Office

Qualifications and Previous Experience

- Proven experience of providing a supporting governance role, processes and systems at a portfolio level
- A strong knowledge and history of managing and implementing best practice in finance and PMO functions
- Proven analytical skills
- Strong Financial literacy
- Strong empathy and understanding with the business and the financial services culture – customer focus, understanding of the importance of cost management together with a strong eye for detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with ability to relate to both non-technical business users and technical IT resources, and the gravitas and credibility to work at Executive level
- Good understanding of project delivery processes
- Excellent people skills
- Proven ability to work under own initiative
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise key activities
