Student Marketing Assistant Manager – Employer Brand and Attraction

Location of this role is flexible, can be in Watford, Reading, Manchester, or Glasgow and while the role is office based, there’ll be expectation longer term, to work from home for some of your hours. The team are spread across the UK and work confidently in the virtual space.

As Student Marketing Assistant Manager within the team, you’ll support the delivery of our recruitment marketing strategy for our Apprenticeship and Graduate programmes. You’ll be confident writing clear and impactful briefs and developing creative solutions and work in partnership with our media and marketing suppliers to build fantastic relationships delivering the very best outputs. You’ll have in depth understanding of the student market, know what makes Gen Z tick and the marketing approaches that will truly resonate with them. As one of the UK’s largest employers of students – you’ll be focused on using data and insights, new to market ideas and competitive awareness – to keep KPMG ahead of the competition. In doing so we need to ensure our strategies are smart, our materials are on brand and our content is authentic and differentiates to inspire with the right diverse top talent.

- Accountable for understanding student recruitment strategy and targets, budgets, challenges and barriers to growth with a view to planning, designing and leading in the delivery of effective attraction campaigns that will deliver on these ambitions.
- Writes clear and effective briefs, be confident in creative development across copy and artwork and, multi-channels. You’ll have a creative eye, copy skills and be a natural storyteller.
- Excited to tell stories through the development of authentic and innovative social and digital content. Experience of content development such as podcasts, selfie style videos, photography, Instagram Reels, Film an advantage etc.
- Responsible for using data and insights to inform effective media strategies and lead in the proposal stage, implementation and optimisation of campaign activities, alongside the development of impactful creative activation.
- Build effective and long-term links within the Student Recruitment team and aligned teams such as Inclusion, Diversity and Social Equality (IDSE), Corporate Responsibility, Brand and Marketing.
- Network and actively build connections to grow our employee ambassador community to leverage for attraction needs.
- Brand guardian - ensuring marketing assets are brand compliant and reflect a cohesive external voice and consistency of messaging and articulation of key messages.
- Build collaborative relationships – both internally with colleagues and with external partners to understand their strategic priorities and to achieve quality outcomes.
- Monitor and oversee effective and efficient management of candidate pipelines and develop targeted marketing solutions to address hotspot recruitment needs.
- Demonstrate the ability and confidence to influence senior decision-makers and to present to this audience in multiple formats.
- Budget management.

The Person
- Substantial experience in recruitment marketing – and excellent student market knowledge - with strong understanding of how to plan, develop and deliver candidate attraction campaigns and initiatives – including creative, media, digital and social media and building employee ambassador communities.
- Experience of working in a complex organsiation dealing with multiple layers of stakeholders. Professional Services background or knowledge would be advantageous.
- Proven track record of developing effective relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
- Drive and commitment.

- High impact communication and interpersonal skills, and a confident presenter.
- Strategic and analytical thinker – commercially minded.
- Good IT skills including Excel, Power Point, databases and internet research.

- Degree qualified with relevant work experience.
