Job Description
We have a new vacancy for a solicitor / lawyer with business immigration experience. This team has two key deliverables: to manage all immigration applications for KPMG employees; and to support our Right to Work team to manage the ongoing administration of colleagues who have the right to work in the UK.

This is a busy team. Thanks to our ongoing success in growing our firm, the number of applications (and ongoing support to colleagues already in the firm) is growing year on year. Last year, the team handled c 2000 applications from new employees; and provided ongoing support to a further 3000 colleagues. You will manage all aspects of this support to what is a vital source of potential to our firm. You will manage a team of 7 Immigration Consultants and 3 Administrators alongside Right to Work Specialists in order to deliver this ongoing support.

Reporting into the HRM for Recruitment Operations, you will work closely with all parts of the firm and all of our People Centres of Excellence to ensure that the service provision is fit for purpose and supports in driving forward the overall UK People agenda.

The role has the following key responsibilities:

- To manage the team undertaking KPMG internal immigration case management, including complex and high profile inquiries whilst establishing effective work management systems
- To manage the team undertaking RTW administration support, ensuring that the right to work and visa processes are followed to ensure the firm remains compliant
- Managing the provision of advisory support to the business for all internal immigration requirements
- Establish and manage effective communication processes with key stakeholders (such as employees, the People Function and Global Mobility)
- Ensuring that the team have the right level of technical expertise and appropriate guidance to provide the required service to the firm
- Support the provision of training when required, both within the team and for general awareness
- To undertake continuous improvement in order to continue to deliver a high quality service. Focusing on improving internal immigration support processes and ways of working
- Ensuring the right to work and visa processes are followed, maintained and kept compliant
- Establishing an SLA framework for both areas of management, prioritising workload and adherence to agreed SLA’s
- Proactively identify opportunities to upskill internal teams i.e. People Operations or other COE’s on the visa immigration process
- Supporting the shaping of strategic immigration business plans
- Involvement in projects and adhoc activities as required, in line with KPMG’ strategic objectives

The successful candidate is likely to have / be able to demonstrate:

- At least 5 years of immigration experience within a leading professional services firm or mid-tier law firm
- Strong understanding and working experience of managing visa applications across all Tiers
- Understanding and experience of UK immigration and right to work rules.
- An ability to analyse, structure, build and define clear processes; and operationally manage a busy team effectively.
- An ability to build relationships and communicate with people at all levels.
- A good degree of IT proficiency, including; Microsoft Excel and SAP or equivalent HR system.
- The ability to motivate, lead and develop a growing team, while working as an enthusiastic member of the team.
- Possess excellent attention to detail
- Possess excellent customer service skills
- Have strong organisational, literacy and numeracy skills
- Being a qualified solicitor is essential for this role.
