This is an exciting opportunity for a risk and regulatory professional to be an integral member of a high capability Regulatory Affairs & Oversight team, which advises a demanding multinational professional services business on a range of regulatory matters. KPMG is a heavily regulated business across all its capability areas.
Regulators and oversight bodies include the Financial Reporting Council, the Financial Conduct Authority and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. Regulatory liaison is an increasingly important issue for KPMG, its clients and its people – this will only continue due to increasing regulatory scrutiny. The focus of this role will be to help oversee the firm’s relationships with its regulators and look ahead to future regulatory changes which could impact KPMG UK.

The Activities
- Designing and maintaining controls for key processes (e.g, horizon scanning, commitments tracking.)
- Drafting regulatory briefings and research materials.
- Preparing briefings for management ahead of key meetings.
- Assisting with facilitation and management of consultation responses.
- Intranet maintenance and team mailbox management.
- Internal liaison with key regulatory contacts.
- Development and co-ordination of management information.
- Assisting with other regulatory project work within the central risk function as required.
- Providing support to the team as and when required
The Person
This role offers a number of exciting opportunities to the right individual. It is essential the individual has strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise and coordinate activities across a group of people, which can include senior stakeholders.

Essential experience includes:
- Excellent organisational skills and able to take responsibility for projects from planning to completion (including co-ordinating with a number of teams).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive, with the ability to work independently as well as being a team player.
- Able to produce work to tight deadlines, with attention to detail whilst under pressure.
- Strong people skills with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally.
- Strong knowledge and experience of standard office IT applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).
Desired experience includes:
- Translating complex concepts (e.g. legal or risk concepts) into high quality written documents (e.g. policies), training material and presentations.
- Experience of working in a risk or regulatory team within a professional environment, with a conscientious and thorough approach to the management and resolution of tasks.
- Experience of working in a regulatory environment
- Good understanding of the UK regulatory landscape impacting KPMG
