Job Description
Job Summary
The Performance Development Manager designs and delivers the annual performance development cycle for the UK firm of around 14,000 employees. Reporting to the Head of Performance Development, the role will be to drive performance development approaches, materials and communications and all performance-related initiatives. The role is integral to the wider Performance and Reward team.

The role will be based in Watford, with expected travel to Canary Wharf and occasional travel to regional offices.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for delivering the annual performance development cycle for the firm in line with the annual performance development calendar
-
Continue to drive the strategic agenda for performance development in line with KPMG’s Our Deal and the KPMG Story
-
Responsible for co-creating and co-delivering the annual communication strategy for key performance development messages with internal communications
-
Maintain contemporary knowledge on performance management theory, best practice and development trends
-
Support the preparation of performance development presentations for senior leadership for consultation or approval
-
Develop and implement tools and measures to assess the success of performance development interventions
-
Work collaboratively with the wider Performance and Reward team to strengthen the connection between performance and reward
-
Liaise with other CoE’s such as Talent, Partner Matters and L&D to ensure performance development initiatives are integrated and deployed into the business successfully
-
Develop and maintain existing tools and user guides used by the business to support performance development
-
Maintain and ensure online performance development material is always current
-
Manage and leverage relationships with key stakeholder groups (e.g HR Leads, performance development Taskforce, People Leaders, Employee Business Forum, Head of People, Capability and Coverage Leads, Performance Group Leaders, HoPOs, Partner Matters, Talent and MI CoEs and ITS)

Attend Global performance development calls to ensure UK alignment with the Global agenda

Support the upskilling of performance managers through scoping and co-delivering a development initiative
In addition and for a period of up to 12 months, the role holder will support the Head of Performance Development in the delivery of:

Annual partner performance development cycle

Partner performance tool to support the development cycle

360 feedback programme for the firm
Key Components
-
An experienced and client centric HR professional with exposure to working in a complex, ambiguous and fast changing environment

Good project management skills and detail orientated
-
Ability to plan for and work to set firm wide deadlines

Excellent written communication skills
-
A good understanding of the business and the commercial environment within which it operates is a must
-
Performance development experience is highly desirable but is not a prerequisite
-
Capable of building strong and enduring relationships with your clients and colleagues

Ability to use change management techniques to develop and/or implement initiatives to support a step change in business results
-
Expected to work independently with minimal day to day guidance
-
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to GDPR guidance when handling sensitive or personal data

You will be responsible for managing relationships with key stakeholders

You will influence colleagues to implement firm-wide initiatives to deliver strategic change within the firm

You will be continually looking for new and better ways to do things which drive out cost, improve the professionalism of the HR function and help to support the business plans
Contributing to the People Function

You will share your knowledge appropriately with the wider People and HR community and will be recognised as a great team player

You will be a role model for change management initiatives within the People Function, working to overcome issues and proactively suggesting solutions

Experience and Technical Skills Required
-
Experience in working in an HR or performance development role/environment is essential
-
Clear commercial acumen and business focus
-
Demonstrable experience in the key components of the role
-
Proven track record in the development and/or delivery of people management initiatives
-
Strong relationship building and influencing skills with senior stakeholders within a business
-
Change and project management experience
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Ability to deliver against multiple, often changeable priorities to time, quality and budget
-
Commitment to driving high quality in all elements of the role and Centre of Expertise
-
Excellent Microsoft application skills including Powerpoint and Excel
