Learning Deployment Team Lead

Job Description
The purpose of this role is to:

- Lead a team of Learning Deployment Specialists (LDS) and Learning Deployment Coordinators (LDC) accountable for an allocation of courses for UK Learning. The Team Leader will need to ensure all team members follow agreed processes and policies adopted across all Deployment.
- Be able to work on own initiative, being proactive and taking responsibility for identifying issues, proposing solutions and initiating improvements. The Assistant Manager will need to manage multiple tasks/priorities, tight and challenging timescales and will need to demonstrate excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Conduct goal setting and appraisal reviews, hold 1:1 meetings with individual team members and provide guidance on individual development of skills to aid individuals in maximising their potential and improving performance as well as ensuring career development opportunities are optimised.
- Manage the monitoring and metrics process for Audit and QRM

Role overview


- Manage a specific team of LDSs and LDCs on a day to day basis to ensure the provision of professional, efficient and cost effective deployment and administration support to Business Learning Partners (BLP’s), Programme Managers, the business and individual Learners.
- Ensure all team members have a fair and varied allocation of work, liaising where necessary with other Team Leaders to determine a consistent, efficient approach to all deployment and administrative processes. Ensure both the LDS and LDO team members work collaboratively and follow agreed administrative and deployment processes, meeting appropriate SLAs.
- Oversee the course planning process, ensuring that LDSs meet the requirements identified by the Business Learning Partners and Programme Managers in identifying and implementing learning plans for the year and work collaboratively with the Course Planning Team.
- Attend regular update meetings with relevant Business Learning Partners and/or Programme leads to understand the curricular to be delivered and to explain how Deployment Operations can support them to deliver their learning. Provide advice and innovative solutions with regards to the deployment of all learning interventions using their knowledge and understanding of the deployment options available, e.g. LMS functionality, use of Virtual Classroom/Skype platforms.
- Be an escalation point for any day-to-day issues that arise, agreeing actions with the relevant team members to resolve. Coaching where necessary for team members to be able to resolve conflicts together.
- Organise team meetings to cascade relevant information.
- Ensure robust procedures are in place and followed for the monitoring of mandatory training, including the issuing of metrics if necessary.
- Conduct regular 1:1s to discuss performance and ensure team members are on track with achieving goals. Conduct appraisal and goal setting discussions, ensuring the firm’s timetable is met. Ensure information discussed is recorded and filed. Input into Talent Review meetings where required. Identify training needs/development plans and arrange relevant training/coaching as required
- Conduct interviews for new staff and ensure an Induction timetable is put in place for new joiners and a robust training plan is available, ensuring consistency across teams.
- To develop and maintain a knowledge and understanding of all software applications used within the department including the Global Learning Management System (LMS), Virtual Classroom / Adobe platform, and the evaluation platform, Questionmark. Must also have knowledge and understanding of department finance and accrual processes, training policies and general administrative and deployment processes.
- Continual review and enhancement of team processes and policies, linking in with the Regulatory and Analytics team where necessary.
- To take on ad hoc projects as and when they arise, for example automation.
- Ensure onsite support for high profile events is organised and attend if required.
- Work with the finance team to ensure that the budget processes are being followed, ensuring that effective cost control procedures are maintained ensuring that effective forecasting takes place and providing explanations for variances against budget. Ensure that suggestions re cost effectiveness and value for money are put forward.
- Demonstrate commercial business approach in all decisions made that affect the team and impact it has on UK Learning and the Operational Excellence Hub (OEH).

- Experience in leading a team or in a supervisory role.
