Roles and Responsibilities

A Senior Manager with an IPA focus within the team would typically be responsible for driving growth of the IPA service line as part of the wider IPA team, developing new business from existing clients and new prospects, building deep and enduring relationships with blue chip organisations and establishing themselves as a subject matter expert in this type of assurance.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities attributable to this role will include some or all of the following:


Leading multiple IPA reviews



Responsibility for the overall quality of delivery and deliverables on specific client engagements



Overseeing engagement scoping, financial management, managing delivery risk, production and review of deliverables



Building and managing excellent networks and client relationships at all levels including at CIO, CFO or Head of Internal Audit level across a range of organisations



Actively identifying and progressing business development opportunities, both for IPA and wider Technology risk and transformation opportunities



Managing sales activities such as responding to RFPs, bid management, proposal writing and client presentations



Developing internal networks and maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues across KPMG, but in particular in the wider IT Advisory areas



Be responsible for expanding our IPA services in a specific FS sector, e.g. banking, insurance, wealth management; however we expect IPA practitioners to also work across different sectors too



Supporting colleagues focused on other key sectors to develop IPA opportunities



Coaching and developing team members both as part of our overall Performance Management process and on specific engagements



Contributing to practice management, eg training, knowledge management, collateral development



Management of specific value-added assurance services alongside Internal Audit colleagues.




Qualifications and SkillsProven experience of successfully delivering technology based consulting services



Prince II or PMI qualified



Master’s Degree or MBA



Big 4 professional services or dynamic IT consultancy environment experience



Significant experience in industry or professional services.




Experience and Background

Successful candidates will display a combination of the following:


Experience in business analysis and understanding of core business processes within a specific industry group(s).



Proven experience in identifying and developing sales opportunities.



Strong people management skills.



A good understanding of risk and issues that would be encountered by our clients during major IT enabled programmes and projects.



Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and first rate interpersonal skills at all levels.



Ability to present on specific subjects to a group of people (internal staff or clients/potential clients).



Ability to identify and assess Programme and IT and business risks and controls, to relate them to the wider business environment and to express opinions clearly to all levels.



Ability to develop excellent client and internal relationships.



Ability to deliver work within tight timescales, to budget and to a high quality.



Excellent team player but also excelling in working on own initiative.



Proven experience of successfully managing and delivering IT or Programme assurance services to large, multi-national clients. Including for example experience in; Delivering Programme Reviews or internal audit services; Providing IT support to external audit; Other IT assurance and advisory experience for example project assurance, application controls advisory or assurance, IT risk management etc.
