Department Information

The People Operations teams provide people administrative and advisory support to our UK Business and through our service pledge underpin our overall people strategy and vision. We are a busy team covering operational tasks for to support our people, ranging from arranging interviews through to providing references, where we are consistently looking for ways to improve on the expectations of our customers across the business with the service we deliver.

Context of Role

This team has two key deliverables:

- Manage controls, compliance and service delivery across the People Operations team

You will be familiar with a number of HR operational controls, including GDPR and our ongoing risk and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for building the framework of controls that allow other teams to manage their risk; and then for monitoring performance against this framework; working with and contributing to internal audit requirements as needed. You will lead the business continuity plan for People Operations, ensuring each delivery team has adequate plans in place. You will also manage the service delivery performance of two key external vendors. This will involve managing the contractual performance of these vendors, and managing and acting on service feedback from internal stakeholders, working alongside the KPMG Procurement team.

- Manage the operational client screening & security clearance processes for existing colleagues.

You will manage the operational delivery of a busy team providing services to ensure that colleagues working in our client facing teams have the relevant screening and security clearance in place to fulfil their duties. This will include both the provision of individual screening services but also the management of records and relationships to support clients who wish to audit our performance.

Role and Responsibilities

The role has the following key responsibilities:
- You are a key member of the senior management team within People Operations and will work closely with your peers in ensuring that the level of service offered and delivered by your team is line with our service pledge
- Involvement in key business projects including new process / compliance changes. You will be required to ensure that your team’s working knowledge of our legal and regulatory requirements are up to date
- Setting up tools and processes to monitor and track controls, issues and events whilst also identifying and influencing the operational delivery teams to close any identified gaps
- You will lead the business continuity plan for People Operations, ensuring that all potential interruptions to service provision are identified and have suitable plans in place.
- Monitoring and tracking of all internal and external audit reviews - designing and embedding a risk framework enabling senior leadership to have a clear line of sight and insight on risk across the operation
- Ensuring third party vendors are managed to perform against their contractual obligations whilst ensuring quality service delivery. Promote a productive and successful relationship between KPMG and our third parties with a suitable supplier/relationship framework in place – supporting the monthly and quarterly service review processes.
- Ensuring that service delivery to our internal stakeholders is managed appropriately.
- Ensuring that the client screening and security clearance teams deliver high quality and timely service to our internal clients.
- Ensuring that talent within the team is identified and recognised, with ongoing development opportunities provided for the individuals – responsible for a clear succession and development plan to be in place ensuring the talent pipeline across People Operations is supported
- Manage the headcount of the team, and associated budget to plan

Experience, Qualification and Skills

The successful candidate is likely to have / be able to demonstrate:
- Experience of HR operational delivery
- Contract/vendor and service delivery management experience
- Experience in managing a compliance / risk team in HR
- An ability to build relationships and communicate with people at all levels
- Excellent analytical and reporting skills
- Experience in the management of teams, coaching, developing and driving a culture of service excellence
- Ability to influence and confidently negotiate at all levels
- Ability to prioritise workloads under a high pressure, autonomous environment
- Have a good degree of IT office proficiency, including; Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word etc and SAP or equivalent HR system.
