The Business Analyst supports the Business Analysis Practice Lead and sits within the IT Services department within Central Services. This is an internal role within KPMG, which faces off to the UK business functions: Advisory, Audit, Central Services and Tax.

The role will liaise closely with Business Engagement Leads to initially understand the needs for a piece of work to take place and will then reach out to specific business contacts.

Primary responsibilities include:

Eliciting business functional and non-functional requirements
Modelling business processes
Managing responsibilities across several projects simultaneously
Working with business stakeholders of all levels i.e. from Support staff to Partner level
Working closely with Project Managers, Technical / Solution Architects, Testing teams
Coordinating 3rd Party teams (onshore and offshore)
Supporting Business Analysis team members

Key Accountabilities:

The Business Analyst will work across projects of all sizes and complexity and will be accountable for acting as coordinator between the business and technical teams and deliver clear and concise documentation within agreed timeframes.

Specific responsibilities include:
Understanding the needs of the business in order to document the scope and requirements in a clear and concise manner
Translating the agreed business needs into detailed requirements for submission to another team or 3rd party supplier
Working with internal teams and 3rd parties to deliver the business requirements
Clearly illustrating requirements traceability
Supporting the Testing teams in the development of Test Scripts
Supporting the business to conducting the UAT phase
Reviewing contractual documents to ensure consistency with Scope/Requirement documents
Managing changes to requirements by recording them, assessing the impact and ensuring all change requests follow the formal change management process
Maintaining a good understanding of the department and firm’s business areas and understanding the KPMG business generally
Communicating effectively with members of the project team and other interested parties
Covering a wide range of activities that require complex judgements based on advanced analytical thinking
Challenging the status-quo and encouraging the business to think outside of existing boundaries where possible
Streamlining existing processes and creating new processes that will provide increased quality and efficiency

Essential Criteria:

Proactive and driven team player
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent all round communication skills
Highly organised and able to manage individual workload and operate within the context of a team
Able to conduct stakeholder sessions: carry out interviews, facilitate workshops etc.
Confident at presenting
Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Solid understanding of SDLC
Considerate and willing to support team members as and when required

Desirable Criteria:

UX/UI Experience
Experience using wireframing tools such as Balsamiq and Axure
A good understanding of the Agile methodology
Experienced working in a consulting environment
Experienced working in a Professional Services firm
Ability to motivate individuals
Ability to highlight where the Business Analysis Practice can develop further
Awareness of Project Management methodologies such as PRINCE2
Comfortable using the MS Office suite
BCS Diploma in BA / BCS Advanced Diploma in BA / IIBA CBAP Qualification

Qualifications and Previous Experience:

Demonstrable experience performing in a business analysis role
Educated preferably to degree level
Experienced working across a range of different projects
Experienced working across multiple projects simultaneously
Experienced working with senior stakeholders
Experienced working using the Waterfall methodology
Experienced in documenting functional and non-functional requirements using a number of different techniques i.e. User Stories, Use Cases etc.
Experienced in re-engineering business and system processes i.e. producing AS-IS and TO-BE process models using MS Visio
