Services are provided to a broad range of clients across all sectors from the largest FTSEs or inbounds to mid-market companies and include Global Compliance Management Services, Audit and Accounting Related Tax Services, Tax Transformation, Governance and Process Improvement, Outsourcing and Business Technology, as well as other exciting priority areas for our clients. The Practice operates strategically over four cross-functional business areas including Operational Excellence, Digital Transformation, Tax Technology and Tax Enablement, leveraging the depth and breadth of skills to boost the capability of the GCT as a priority service line.

Job DescriptionKPMG Compliance & Transformation (C&T) is an exciting key area of growth within the KPMG practice and is one of our priority growth areas. C&T is a national team which works with clients to manage their tax and statutory obligations across their business which is increasingly key in today’s challenging environment. Services are provided to a broad range of clients across all sectors from the largest FTSE’s or inbounds to mid-market companies. The range of activities covered is broad with some members of the team focusing on particular areas. The main activities include supporting clients with:

- Tax reporting obligations under UK, IFRS and US GAAP
- Delivering corporate tax compliance engagements
- Managing global compliance outsourcing contracts
- Tax technical advice relevant to business issues and opportunities
- Processes and implementing technology

The C&T service line includes Audit and Accounting Related Tax Services (AARTS). Our AARTS team is a virtual group led out of London which focuses on helping clients deliver accurate and efficient tax reporting.

Client and Market profile:

The team currently services a number of large, multi-national groups in the FTSE 100/250 or overseas equivalents (e.g. Fortune 500). This includes the following sectors: Aerospace and Defence; Automotive, Industrial Manufacturing; Chemical; Pharmaceuticals; Food, Drink; Tobacco; Retail; Consumer Products; Oil & Gas; Mining and Utilities; Media etc.

Roles and Responsibilities:

A Corporate Tax specialist is required to provide technical input in this exciting and challenging field. This person will be responsible for managing the relationships and delivery of a range of services led by the team across a portfolio of clients, leading other members of the client service team within the group.

The role will provide plenty of opportunity to interact with clients and the wider tax, audit and advisory teams across the firm. In addition, this person will play a key role in winning new work by identifying opportunities, supporting proposals and joining partners in discussions with targets and clients to generate additional lines of work.

Key responsibilities include:-

- Working with clients on the issues and challenges around their tax processes, identifying areas for potential improvement and developing steps to achieve such improvements
- Reviewing tax, business and functional requirements to recommend solutions that can help to meet those requirements;
- Helping clients to define an end-to-end tax process, technology and organisation strategy to become more effective and efficient
- Leading the implementation of tax technology solutions across indirect and direct taxes
- Delivering corporate tax compliance engagements;
- Managing global compliance outsourcing contracts;
- Advising clients on tax governance issues, including Senior Accounting Officer and documentation of tax strategy;
- Developing and maintaining client relationships across a portfolio of clients
- Advising clients on the tax implications of new legislation;
- Responding to client requests for ad hoc technical advice;
- Taking a lead on sales activities by working with more senior members of the team to generate additional work opportunities for both existing clients and targets, supporting proposals and propositions across functions, sectors and accounts;
- Supporting the Director in charge of Global C&T for National Markets with internal activities, including developing and sharing best practice across Global C&T and other tax compliance teams and managing and reporting on C&T activities and opportunities in the Thames Valley market;
- Coaching and developing junior members of staff.

Qualifications and Skills:

- ACA or CTA qualified

Experience and Background:


The successful candidate will have some of the following skills:

- Strong awareness of tax reporting requirements and the UK tax regime;
- US GAAP and IFRS tax reporting knowledge;
- Extensive project management/co-ordination skills and experience (e.g. on global compliance outsourcing engagements or similar projects);
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication skills. Communicates with impact, in a way that is open, honest, consistent and clear;
- Takes personal responsibility and accountability for own work. Sustains a high level of drive, shows enthusiasm and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work;
- Analyses problems, identifies core issues, investigates, evaluates and integrates information;
- Builds the reputation of KPMG through the quality of work, knowledge and experience.
