Campaign Manager- Firmwide Campaigns

This is a Campaign Manager position focusing on campaign delivery. The individual will sit as part of the Marketing Centre of Expertise team and will manage the development of our marketing programmes in conjunction with a team of marketing professionals across our campaign management function.

The Marketing Centre of Expertise (CoE) operates a matrix model of expertise in defined marketing capabilities and organised in clusters aligned to our business units. The CoE leads on marketing delivery, supports brand management, digital enablement and also provides account management to support the Marketing Business Partners (BP’s). CoE teams are experts in specialised areas and are deeply involved in co-creation and delivery.

Campaign delivery is at the core of our new operating model for Marketing. The campaign manager will bring excellent project management, creative and content development expertise and the application of effective marketing strategies to build and deploy marketing campaigns which have a significant impact on our commercial performance.

This campaign manager will have a particular focus on managing the firmwide campaigns in our portfolio which require an even greater degree of co-ordination and synergy. This will involve ensuring the smooth-running of multi-asset, multi-media large campaigns involving third parties to tight production deadlines, working alongside campaign colleagues and with those in Programme Management to effectively air-traffic control our presence in channels and ensure a co-ordinated client contact strategy.

Supported by, and leading, a team and in conjunction with colleagues across campaign management, the role holder will take the lead on project delivery to agreed timeline and budget whilst collaborating and leveraging the skills and capabilities across the broader function including data management, marketing effectiveness and digital marketing.

The individual will work closely with Programme Management to ensure engagement of the business and Marketing Business Partner colleagues in the creative development and review process and that stakeholders are effectively briefed around the campaign timeline and internal activation requirements.

The Role

-Lead the development and delivery of our marketing programmes, in particular taking a lead on the firmwide marketing campaigns
-Oversees creative development, campaign design and effective media and channel strategy.
-Manage a team of marketing campaign professionals to support delivery.
-Develop project management timeline, budget forecast and resource requirements for allocation to marketing programmes.
-Responsible for the engagement of business and marketing stakeholders in the development and approval of marketing campaigns.
-Ensures that team processes are consistently and effectively applied across deliverables including brand, risk and data management policies.
-Identifies the need for and engages specialist colleagues and agencies in the campaign development process including KGS.
-Working with Marketing Effectiveness to ensure that ROI is effectively measured and lessons learned are shared with Marketing BPs and relevant marketing colleagues.
-Report back and propose improvements to our agency roster and operational processes.

Role dimensions

This role will report to the Senior Campaign Delivery Manager with reporting to the Head of Marketing CoE as required.

The individual will have responsibility for a team of c4 Assistant Marketing Managers and Campaign Executives.

Core technical competencies

-Very strong marketing project management, including timeline development, cost management and resource planning.
-Familiar with the development process and best practice for content production, email marketing, digital campaigns including advertising and social.
-Familiar with working with content strategies and hiring third parties for editorial commissions.
-Managing agencies including brief writing and effective creative/concept review
-Capable stakeholder manager able to seek their engagement in the campaign development process and manage constructive feedback effectively
-Have the confidence and drive to influence people at all levels and maintain strong networks.
-Familiar with brand management including application of visual identity and messaging frameworks.
-Expertise of B2B marketing essential and experience of Professional services desirable.
-Able to apply risk and compliance processes effectively with experience of identifying risks and seeking support where needed.
-Comfortable with data and applying insights to marketing. Including customer research, developing a data brief/segmentation plan and marketing effectiveness processes.
-Able to lead the day-to-day management of the colleagues in their team including performance management and development support.

-Collaboration is a key requirement for this role including with Marketing Business Partners, other teams in Campaign Management and the business to best use the skills and ideas available and ensure good buy-in for the ultimate campaign.

You will be a good relationship-builder, creating useful networks internally and externally, and serving as an advisor and arbitrator for escalated conflicts or unresolved issues.

Expertise/ Technical role requirements

- BA university degree or equivalent
- Professional marketing qualification (CIM) preferred
-Experience of B2B marketing and managing people essential.
-Highly proficient in all MS Office packages
-Knowledge of CRM systems


- Excellent understanding of new marketing approaches, tactics and campaigns. Able to propose new ideas with a compelling and commercial rationale to seek business and marketing colleague support to apply this to campaigns.
-Solid understanding and knowledge of effective project and resource management including budget management.
-Strong copy editing and writing skills, visual/image selection and innovative ideas around the role of marketing channels and digital.
- Be able to offer constructive commentary on some of the firm’s key marketing programmes as viewed from the public domain and offer suggestions as to how you might drive a step change in how the firm and its stakeholders perceive the brand.
