Job DescriptionJob Summary:

KPMG’s Restructuring team are looking to recruit a new Assistant Manager to join a small specialist part of the practice. The role will be to work within the Receivables Realisation Group ("RRG").

The wider Restructuring team delivers a blend of stakeholder / lender side advisory work, company side advisory and formal insolvency. The work services a full spectrum of businesses from small owner managed concerns through to large multinationals and also a wide range of work with public sector organisations, all typically experiencing some form of stress or distress.

The RRG assist restructuring by specialising in debt collection and monitoring. The role will allow the successful applicant to build on an existing credit control skill set in a challenging environment and with the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients.
This particular role would be based in Reading to provide agile support to client situations both in our London marketplace and across the wider South region. Regular travel to client sites would be required as part of the role, though elements of the job would be office based.

Key responsibilities:

- Working with and reporting to senior staff and RRG colleagues to deliver a range of engagements.
- The role involves assistance to Restructuring staff, on an assignment by assignment basis
- To be involved primarily in the collection of debts, using RRG standard procedures
- Assist with reconciliations between the Insolvency Practitioners System ("IPS") to RRG schedules and bank position
- Completion and tracking of receipts and journals using KPMG systems
- On site assistance on "live" assignments, including gathering of information, ledger cut-off, and liaising with on-site company credit-controllers
- Assist with file completion; write off schedules, gathering information in relation to bad debts and general compliance matters
- Assist with the production of debtor-related reports, on a timely basis and in agreed format
- General office assistance, to Restructuring, as and when required
- Initial training to be in either Manchester or Birmingham

Key skills and competencies required:

- Credit control or accountancy background
- Ability to dealing with people at all levels in our clients, and internally, in a tactful and diplomatic manner, often in challenging situations.
- Able to work on own initiative and self-start, as well as being part of a team.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Understanding of common accountancy packages is also useful.
- Flexibility to travel is a must as this is a regional role, with the possibility of some wider national and international travel.
- Successful candidate must have a proven record of effectively managing own time and being able to prioritise tasks
- Must be able to work under pressure and take a practical and responsible approach to work
- Excellent communication skills and an eye for detail are all essential
- A driving license is desirable given the regularity of travel to different locations required
