Job DescriptionThe Role:

KPMG’s Midlands and South Restructuring team are looking for a dedicated Insolvency Case Administrator to join their team.

The team of trusted advisors offer a full range of services to stressed and distressed businesses, ranging from formal insolvency through to advising profitable businesses on enhancing value and solving issues.

This role will be focusing purely on dealing with administrative matters on our insolvency assignments, based as part of our dedicated case progression team in our Nottingham office.

The Midlands & South team where the vacancy exists is made up of approximately 60 people, led by 3 partners and a team of directors. The successful candidate will be primarily aligned to this regional part of the practice but will also join our national team supporting on aspects of engagements across the country.
As a case administrator in a team focusing solely on corporate insolvencies, you will be responsible for a portfolio of cases dealing predominantly with statutory and technical aspects of the insolvency process. This is an office-based yet client facing role in a lively, stimulating and busy environment, working under pressure and to deadlines.

You will report to the insolvency case manager in our Nottingham office, as well as other members of the senior team across the Midlands region.


- Work alongside case managers and engagement leaders to provide support on corporate insolvency engagements;
- Ownership of a portfolio of cases, with responsibility for proactive case progression, statutory compliance and ensuring all correspondence is responded to and queries dealt with effectively;
- Produce correspondence, minutes, file notes, emails, schedules and analysis;
- Assist the case manager or senior administrators with statutory and other reports;
- Participate in occasional marketing events to aid development of internal and external contacts;
- Attend to any other administrative task required by the role.

The Person:

- Existing experience in insolvency is preferred, however candidates with an interest in developing a career in the field, with a willingness to learn quickly and operate as part of a team would be considered;
- An interest in commercial and financial matters;
- Good time management and organisational skills together with the ability to prioritise tasks to ensure that deadlines are met;
- Conscientious and able to produce high quality, detailed and accurate work;
- Good people and communication skills, able to confidently and articulately deal with all parties in what can sometimes be difficult situations;
- Ability to work innovatively and “self-start”, either individually or as part of a team;
- Ability to assess the various alternatives for dealing with specific case issues and present suggestions to the case manager;
- Knowledge of the IPS system would be beneficial;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
