The Fixed Asset Tax Services team is a dynamic and successful area of KPMG’s Tax practice. The team works with a wide range of organisations and individuals that incur significant expenditure on acquiring and constructing assets.

The team consists of chartered surveyors and tax and accounting specialists, many of which are dual qualified.

Opportunities exist for a Manager within the FATS group of our Tax function situated in the North. Applicants should be prepared for some travel in this role.

Roles and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be:

- A market-facing individual within your respective region, responsible for building internal and external relationships in order to win FATS projects and drive sales growth both independently and as part of the regional market team
- Actively involved in delivering ad-hoc advisory work such as entitlement reviews or transaction input and significant one-off consultancy projects which cannot be delivered by the Hub in whole or in part. This may extend to delivering standard projects in exceptional circumstances
- Technical expert that can be relied on to present updates at regional seminars and be available to answer ad-hoc queries from internal teams
- Responsible for managing client relationships and overseeing delivery of work by the Hub. This will include active management of finances and risk on all projects as a dedicated Engagement Manager
- Accountable for managing the local junior grades within the Hub in terms of any work-related or pastoral issues, as well as taking on performance management responsibilities where required
- Team-player who not only contributes to the regional business but also plays an active role in national FATS initiatives

The role will be a mix of home working, office working and attending client meetings on site as required, with flexibility around the approach to meet individual circumstances

Experience and Background

- Strong academic background including a degree or equivalent

- ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified or equivalent professional qualification

You may already be working in a professional services background with experience within tax or alternatively a qualified accountant with a background in audit looking to develop your career within tax
