Student Assistant Manager
This role supports the award-winning student recruitment team, primarily through management of the end to end recruitment process, with some involvement in attraction activities to recruit diverse talent. The Assistant Manager role plays a key part in a team that is dedicated to ensuring KPMG’s undergraduate, graduate and apprenticeship programmes have a strong profile at target universities/schools and its recruitment process is leading within its industry. The Assistant Manager will manage a small team and work closely with their Officer(s) and Coordinator(s) to provide an efficient, high quality, client focused service for applicants and the business alike, throughout the recruitment process.

- Direct line management and development responsibility for Officer(s) and Coordinator(s) in direct team. This will also include working with Officers and Coordinators outside of direct team across the country to ensure the successful implementation of relevant recruitment projects nationally

Recruitment Operations
- Overseeing the effective and efficient management of candidate pipelines with your Officer(s) using an Applicant Tracking System. Overseeing the candidate journey from application through to onboarding.
- Closely monitor the number of candidates coming through the process. Work with Officers to agree relevant actions by predicting outcomes to meet target numbers and ensure appropriate focus is placed on target routes.
- Provide regular and robust Management Information through reporting of pipelines
- Build effective and long-term relationships within the Student Recruitment management team and the business/programme leads.
- Act as an escalation point for the team screening and assessing candidate application forms against a variety of entry criteria, including international qualifications.
- Ensuring the team are progressing applications through the recruitment process in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Lead on organising, coordinating and facilitating KPMG’s Launch Pads and other Assessment stages.
- Lead the organisation and delivery of our work experience programmes.
- Effective resource allocation within the team.

Attraction and Outreach
- Ensure your Officer(s) produce and implement a university marketing plan for each of KPMG's target universities/schools.
- Reporting to the Attraction team on your Officer(s) performance to plan, promote and deliver campaigns and events with given target universities/schools.
- Guide your Officer(s) so they can build and maintain excellent relationships with university/school contacts, including careers services, partnerships and societies.
- Plan and execute involvements on campus to support the recruitment of target headcount.

Assistant Managers will lead on ad hoc projects as part of their role. These include, but are not limited to, post offer, diversity and inclusion initiatives, external partnerships and campus sponsorships.

The Person
- Substantial experience in the student recruitment marketplace with strong understanding of how to plan, develop and deliver selection and assessment processes.
- Experience in direct line management.
- Strong IT skills, notably Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Strong passion for Student Recruitment and creating a positive candidate experience.
- Solid understanding of the Student Recruitment Cycle and the marketplace.
- Proven track record to build and maintain relationships with internal and external key stakeholders.
- Ability to produce high quality work, paying close attention to detail.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills, being able to independently manage their own workload and responsibilities whilst recognising when to escalate concerns.
- Drive and commitment to improving diversity and inclusion within professional services.
- Flexibility to work within a fast-paced environment, being able to adapt to change quickly and positively.
- A confident presenter.
- Team player with a willingness to support others when their workload is reaching capacity.
- Comfortable operating in a virtual environment.
Whilst this role is office based, you may be required to travel to KPMG offices and some events around the country (subject to Covid-19 restrictions) – this could require overnight stays on an ad-hoc basis throughout the year.
