The Team

The Manchester Pensions team is growing significantly due to substantial new business wins. We are recruiting at all levels within our trustee services team to help deliver actuarial and administration advice to a large portfolio of clients in new and innovative ways. This is the opportunity to be part of this exciting and growing business.

Roles and Responsibilities

In the pensions advisory team we deliver professional pensions consulting advice to a wide range of corporate and trustee pensions clients. The team in which we are recruiting predominantly advises Trustees.

We are looking for a Senior Manager to join the team as an experienced Scheme Actuary providing support to more junior Scheme Actuaries where necessary.

Your role within the team will include the following:

- Being responsible for the high quality and complex calculations and written deliverables, often on multiple concurrent projects
- Being credible and confident delivering advice verbally to trustee boards
- Managing a team of reports on each project, giving regular on the job feedback to develop them
- Building an excellent relationship with the client and/or KPMG internal teams
- Looking to expand the scope of work on a project where appropriate
- Sharing your specialist technical knowledge across the pensions team
- Being responsible for risk and compliance procedures on each project

Professional qualifications

Qualified actuary
Scheme Actuary certificate

Background and experience

Successful candidates will have the following attributes/experience

- Relevant and varied experience working in the pensions industry with extensive advice provided to Trustee boards
- Scheme Actuary certificate held for a number of years with recent experience of managing a portfolio of trustee relationships
- Excellent understanding of the UK pensions landscape and issues facing clients
- Consistently able to work at high level of intensity whilst maintaining a professional and positive approach
- Fully engaged and taking responsibility for own performance
- Contributes to the development of others
