The Legal Technology Team supports three key areas of KPMG Law:

Legal advisory engagements through the use of technology which enables KPMG to deliver advice and solutions to clients underpinned by technology.
The productisation of legal services including the build and deployment of legal technology products to clients; and
Supporting KPMG’s Legal Operations and Transformation Services team in the configuration of legal technology solutions for corporate in-house legal teams.

We also work closely with our global legal technology teams across KPMG’s extensive global network.

The Role:

As a Legal Technologist at KPMG you will be exposed to cutting edge legal technology being used to support the delivery of legal services and to the building of legal technology products. KPMG is uniquely positioned to leverage significant multi-disciplinary capabilities to bring Legal Technology solutions to market which solve client problems and as a legal technologist working within KPMG Law you will be working with lawyers and other professional advisors from across KPMG.

Successful candidates will apply legal technology to legal problems and help to develop sophisticated solutions for clients demonstrating creativity and enabling KPMG to differentiate in the marketplace.


Supporting the development, implementation and management of digital solutions for clients;
Iimplementing solutions using HighQ Collaborate, configuring existing sites and leveraging KPMG proprietary code to deploy solutions to clients;
Supporting KPMG’s knowledge team in the maintenance and creation of automated templates using the firm’s document automation software, Contract Express and supporting KPMG Law during legal scale contract remediation projects;
Assisting in exploring new innovative technologies and considering their potential use by the firm;
Onboarding new technology solutions through KPMG’s quality and risk management processes;
Providing advice and support to users on how to use our technology solutions and platforms;
Helping to test and maintain the firm's legal technology systems when new features/functionality are added to these systems;
Helping to create and keep up-to-date user guides and training materials (including e-learning) on how to use the firm's legal technology systems;
Supporting fee earner collaboration and engagement with our technologies and promoting an innovation culture across the firm, including assisting with workshops, training sessions and attending meetings as appropriate.

Qualifications and Skills:

A keen interested in Legal Technology and its application to law.
At least 3 years of experience in Legal Technology (either in a law firm or as part of an in-house team or Big Four).
A working knowledge and understanding of HighQ and experience of using the platform.
A detailed understanding of Contract Express and an ability to leverage its functionality to build and maintain automated documents.
Experience of coding in JavaScript, Python, React, HTML and CSS is preferable but not essential as you will be working alongside solution developers.
Experience of having worked in a law firm or other “big four” is useful but not essential.
Attention to detail with strong organisation, teamwork and interpersonal skills are essential.
Candidates will be required to balance several pieces of work simultaneously, prioritising to ensure tight timescales and deadlines are met.
Candidates will also be responsible for supervising junior members of the team and ensuring experience and knowledge is shared.
