Job Description
Increasingly our mid market competitors are successfully driving deal origination via a central team leaving us at a competitive disadvantage. Origination is one of our key investment areas for our 2020 strategy with full support of the leadership as an area that can fundamentally change how we go to market and grow from a £28m to a sustainable £50m+ business per annum. This role will report into Jo Sheerin, Head of M&A Deals & Sales Origination, and will be a central member of the Origination team, coordinating improved processes and networks across the business and, contributing to new deals opportunities. You will be part of a team integral to the M&A sector, regions and Private Equity Group, as well as supporting colleagues across the deals team.

Roles and Responsibilities

Business Development
As a central team member in deal origination and managing a small team of junior KGS analysts:
- Creation of post-deal mailer campaigns / lists & promotion of deal origination internally
- Identification / monitoring of key target markets – managing the sales pipeline for new campaigns
- Identification and approaching of key targets with relevant angles
- Co-ordination of sector reports for marketing campaigns
- Knowledge capture on key targets
- Sales coaching on best practice both 1 to 1 & in team meetings

Working with the Corporate Finance team supporting key account management & deal transactions
- Corporate finance research support – buyer / acquisition research, acquisition strategy
- Collaboration with the research function in India
- Buyer approaches
- Sell-side pitching
- Relationship building with key strategic purchasers
- Relationship building with the Private Equity sector
- Market analysis

Key Requirements:

You will work closely with colleagues across the M&A team in regions, sectors and the Private Equity Group and M&A, as well as connecting with the wider deals colleagues.

Working alongside the head of origination, you will be a key team member in developing and delivering the ‘go to market’ strategy which will significantly enhance the growth of the business.

Experience and Background

The individual will have solid experience as a research analyst working in a professional services/financial services environment - preferably with experience in M&A & Business Development.
They should demonstrate the ability to create and develop strong relationships with individuals at a senior level.
They should also be able to demonstrate management of junior team members.
