You will be working to continuously advance and standardise our client’s infrastructure and pipelined deployments, whilst collaborating with colleagues to write infrastructure as code that scales and takes advantage of the technologies available in the market.

We have learnt during the recent global situation that remote working can, and has, worked for our large Engineering team. Whilst we have three core offices (London, Manchester and Leeds) we are open to remote working across the UK with a view to being onsite at least one day per week.

The Role
• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes using Everything as Code principles on existing and new products/services
• Demonstrable experience in designing, building, testing, automating and supporting significant components with a modern digital service platform in production environments
• Strong product mindset and keen to promote Innersource across teams
• Building and setting up new development tools, environments and infrastructure across our distributed systems
• Producing, reviewing, and enforcing best practices for using Cloud and other build/deployment tools
• Helping diagnose and solve issues when building/deploying our software solutions
• Ensuring that our systems are safe and secure against security threats
• Influencing and coaching wider teams to adopt cloud technologies, test driven development and continuous delivery
• Be a strong collaborator and evangelist for the products and services being delivered

The Person
• You have a broad range of software engineering/DevOps skills as well a deep knowledge of most technical concepts and architectures.
• You have a good working knowledge of Cloud based platforms (AWS, Azure & GCP)
• Significant experience with a diverse set of technologies, engineering concepts with fluency in at least one programming language i.e., NodeJS, Python, Ruby, JS, .Net
• Significant expertise in the use of multiple configuration management, infrastructure provisioning and automation tools.
• Experience of Serverless and containerization technologies with significant experience building and maintaining "configuration as code" infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines (Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Helm)
• Have the ability to implement modern Continuous Delivery processes for releasing software to production
• Experience of working with version control systems such as Github and driving an Innersource culture
• Working knowledge in API development and management of API's through Service catalog or API library/portal.
• Experience in Data management and exposing data through services
• A general inquisitiveness regarding technology and changes in the industry, a continual learner who is constantly seeking improvement and looking to share their experience with others.
• Contributing to technical decisions and direction in a collaborative team environment, including architecture, estimation, product planning, user story/requirement creation and advocating MVP.
• Knowledge of SRE Concepts of observability - SLIs/SLOs, Error budgets, Alerting strategies
