Job Description
Increasingly our mid-market competitors are successfully driving deal origination via a central team leaving us at a competitive disadvantage. Origination is one of our key investment areas for our 2020 strategy with full support of the leadership as an area that can fundamentally change how we go to market and sustain & grow from a £50m business. This role will report into Jo Sheerin, Head of M&A Deals & Sales Origination, and will be a central member of the Origination team, coordinating improved processes contributing to new deals opportunities. You will be part of a team integral to the M&A sector, regions and Private Equity Group, as well as supporting colleagues across the deals team.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Origination Executive forms a key part of our strategic plan to further increase our market share and accelerate growth in our M&A practice across regions & sectors and will be a key player of our growing origination team.
The Origination Executive’s main responsibility is to generate new business meetings through telephone lead generation and networking. You will be responsible for speaking directly to business owners and executives to effectively position the firm and generate new business activity. The key target market will include Private and Family Owned businesses including Private Equity backed businesses.

You will report directly into the head of the team but will be required to work autonomously. Main Responsibilities will include

- Generating new business meetings for the M&A team as a result of post deal & niche sector marketing across the UK.
- Contacting prospective businesses and targets by phone/email/social media to generate new meetings for the M&A team
- Creating a pipeline of opportunities across the UK.
- Identify and spot potential opportunities to start new business conversations with prospective clients.

You will work closely with colleagues across the M&A team in regions, sectors and the Private Equity Group and M&A, as well as connecting with the wider deals colleagues.

Working alongside the head of origination, you will be a key team member in developing and delivering the ‘go to market’ strategy which will significantly enhance the growth of the business.

You should demonstrate the ability to create and develop strong relationships with individuals at a senior level.

Qualifications and Skills

- Highly motivated, ambitious self-starter willing to take advantages of the opportunities this position offers, but also a team player.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Personal drive to deliver results.

Experience and Background

An ideal candidate should have the following:

- Proven track record in organising meetings – CEOs/MDs/Business Owners
- Be self-motivated and able to work without supervision
- Takes personal responsibility and accountability for your own work
- Confidence and a track record in new business generation
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to hunt for new business
