Roles and Responsibilities

KPMG’s services and client base has expanded greatly in the last few years and a senior counsel/professional with professional services expertise is needed to assist in this area, in particular in our rapidly expanding consultancy practice. The successful applicant will advise partners and senior stakeholders within KPMG UK on a wide range of legal, risk and commercial issues relating to professional advisory, consulting and technology services.

The team values diversity of experience and background and includes lawyers and non-lawyers. It offers an open and supportive environment to the successful candidate.

The role involves:

advising, drafting and negotiating Master Services Agreements, complex and innovative technology agreements, strategic alliances and negotiating customer provided contracts;

advising senior stakeholders on commercial, risk and contractual issues within a complex business environment;

providing ad hoc support on a variety of other contractual agreements including RFPs, engagement letters, confidentiality and other agreements;

managing and supervising junior members of the team;

producing templates and guidance notes; and

providing advice and training to business teams.

Qualifications and Skills

at least 7 years post qualification experience or equivalent (experience working for a firm of accountants or a similar professional services firm preferred);

excellent knowledge of technology agreements;

strong experience advising on, drafting and negotiating complex, multi-jurisdictional master services agreements, complex and innovative technology related agreements, strategic alliances and customer provided contracts;

experience working within regulated environments; and

strong commercial awareness and effective risk management skills;

experience with public sector framework agreements will be useful but is not essential.
