Technical Project Manager (Grade C)

The Team:
KPMG is currently seeking a Technical Project Manager, for our Powered Procurement practice to support large organisations deliver technology led S2P transformation programmes using Coupa, Ivalua or Ariba. The candidate will be responsible for managing KPMG teams across multiple workstreams to ensure the timely delivery of programs within scope and budget. The successful candidate will work directly with KPMG and client management to ensure KPMG leading practise delivery methodology is applied. The candidate will also be required to develop junior team members in the PMO/Project management workstream and assist with any business development work in parallel with program delivery.

The Role:

Key accountabilities: Clients

• Lead the day-to-day project management activities of Powered Procurement engagements for various clients, including KPMG team management, plan and project RAID management, status reporting, project reviews and resourcing
• Responsibility for the delivery and quality of KPMG client deliverables
• Strong planning skills, proficient in Smartsheet, Microsoft Projects or similar planning tools
• Follow KPMG Powered implementation methodology and toolset for all customers and tailor to meet each customer’s unique business needs
• Deliver engagements on time and within the engagement profitability targets
• Forge strong relationships with clients, KPMG colleagues and third-party partners
• Create and maintain comprehensive engagement documentation and reporting
• Provide consistent and quality reporting to KPMG and client program leads
• Create and tailor detailed program plan(s) for clients during the planning phase
• Lead meetings such as program kick offs, workshops, reviews and governance bodies
• Drive KPMG program delivery leading practice and provide subject matter expertise and guidance to the client
• Support business development activities such as identification, proposal development, and other prospect activities; work with the appropriate KPMG resources from other service lines/industries
• Proven ability and experience in interacting with business leads to define implementation strategies and strategic direction
• Resolves problems quickly and effectively using creativity and innovation
• Proven ability to prioritise issues and multitask in fast paced and demanding environment
• A track record of working with onshore, offshore and 3rd party teams to source relevant expertise to deliver solutions
• Manage customers where up to 50% of your time may include travel

• Manage engagements according to KPMG's financial and risk management policies
• Manages scope and delivers timely and quality deliverables.

• Contribute towards creating innovative and repeatable solutions which strengthen business performance and differentiate KPMG from our competition.
• Holds review (s) on completion of projects to identify lessons learned and enhance future quality and commercial planning.

• Supervise and performance manage KPMG staff working on assigned engagements
• Foster and develop junior team members in the Project Management/PMO workstreams
• Identifies development needs of team and provides coaching, mentoring and stretch assignments to attract, develop and retain our most talented colleagues.
• Plans and seeks opportunities to allocate team members responsibilities that will enable them to learn new skills that align to their goals.
• Meets deadlines throughout the Performance cycle both for personal development and appraisees ensuring quality feedback is requested, goals are set and monitored, providing feedback on engagement reviews
• Identifies development needs of team and provides coaching, mentoring and stretch assignments to attract, develop and retain our most talented colleagues.
• Effectively supports and manages underperformance, in line with local guidance and policies.
• Takes action to ensure wellbeing matters are properly handled and resolved by demonstrating empathy and awareness of team.
• Ensures team accurately charge time to Engagement codes to see true value of work delivered and to recognize individual/team effort.
• Actively shares knowledge with other KPMG colleagues/teams and contributes to the development of knowledge resources.
• Manages onboarding of new starters, including buddy responsibilities.

• Completes all mandatory and regulatory training required by member firm by the due date.
• Does not undertake work that does not fit with firm capabilities or Risk Management criteria.
