This enables our clients to leverage KPMG’s compliance and transformation expertise to drive better visibility, greater efficiency and improved risk management across their organisation and responsibilities.

The Corporate Accounting team provides a variety of financial compliance services including preparation and review of UK statutory financial statements and management accounts (from large outsourcing engagements to individual entities) and bookkeeping and VAT compliance services.
We are winning new clients and are growing our team as a result of these successes.
We are looking for talented managers to join the Corporate Accounting team with experience in a broad range of areas including:

• Deep financial and management accounting expertise
• Thorough knowledge of VAT compliance
• Engagement leadership
• Ad hoc advisory experience

We have a diverse client base, from mid-market to large FTSE listed groups, from public sector to real estate to financial services. The role involves working on clients of all sizes and across a wide range of sectors.
We are offering full time roles with flexible working arrangements which include, early or late starts to fit around other commitments, shorter working days etc. We would be happy to discuss your own requirements and our range of flexible working arrangements in more detail, should that be of interest.
The Corporate Accounting team is principally based in London and Birmingham, but location for the right candidate is flexible.

Role & responsibilities

• Reviewing financial statement preparation;
• Reviewing management accounts and bookkeeping;
• Reviewing VAT returns;
• Developing lasting client relationships across a portfolio of clients and actively building a network and range of experience to help address client needs;
• Responding to client requests for ad hoc technical advice;
• Liaising with other departments and key contacts within KPMG, including corporate tax compliance, Accounting Advisory Services and Payroll;
• Supporting on sales activities by working with more senior members of the team to generate additional work opportunities for both existing clients and targets, supporting proposals and propositions across functions, sectors and accounts;
• Supporting with the coaching and development of junior members of staff.

The Person

Qualifications and skills:
We welcome applications from those qualified by experience as well as ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualifications.
Knowledge and Experience
• Deep working knowledge and experience of UK GAAP (eg FRS 101 and 102) from a solus and group perspective;
• Project management/co-ordination skills and experience;
• Takes personal responsibility and accountability for own work. Sustains a high level of drive, shows enthusiasm and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work;
• Builds co-operative relationships and fosters an environment in which everyone’s opinion is valued;

KPMG's Global Compliance and Transformation team comprises over 140 team members specializing in tax compliance and reporting, tax management services and tax technology services. The market for Global Compliance Management Services (‘GCMS’) is rapidly expanding. Multinational companies are increasingly putting more focus on being able to meet their compliance obligations worldwide effectively and efficiently. In recognition of this and the changing landscape, GCMS is considered a priority service line at KPMG. The team currently services a number of large, multi-national groups in the FTSE 100/250 or overseas equivalents (e.g. Fortune 500). This includes the following sectors: Aerospace and Defence; Automotive, Industrial Manufacturing; Chemical; Pharmaceuticals; Food, Drink; Tobacco; Retail; Consumer Products; Oil & Gas; Mining and Utilities.
