GMS – Tax Assistant Manager – US team – UK/US Dual Handler

We are looking for a GMS Manager to work in the People Services US and UK teams working on a portfolio of various clients and individuals.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Being a People Services ambassador across the wider National GMS team.
• Advising clients on a broad range of US and UK cross-border income tax, social security, payroll compliance and tax equalisation issues in respect of domestic and globally mobile employees.
• Supporting the team leadership to identify People Services business development opportunities. Ensuring that the knowledge and experience gained on clients is successfully disseminated across the team.
• Participating in internal and external seminars and workshops.
• Building and maintaining relationships with HR, Tax and Finance personnel within client organisations.
• Coaching and mentoring junior team members, with a keen eye on career development, and technical progression.
• Working closely with senior members of the People Services GMS US practice across the UK.
• Responsible for allocated client responsibilities such as compliance management

Qualifications and Skills:

ATT/ CTA Qualified or equivalent.
US CPA qualified/ IRS Enrolled Agent or equivalent.

Experience and Background:

• US and UK expatriate tax experience required and evidence of delivery of US individual expatriate compliance.
• Experience working within US expatriate tax services, including tax equalisation, arrival/departure briefings and advisory projects.
• Experience working within UK expatriate tax services including tax equalisation, arrival/departure briefings and advisory projects.
• Experience of being part of a team to manage global assignee populations
• Strong track record in building relationships.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under own initiative.
• Capable of working to deadlines, showing resilience under pressure and an ability to apply knowledge to non-routine situations.
• Takes personal responsibility and accountability for own work.
• Analyses problems, identifies core issues, investigates, evaluates and integrates information.
• Demonstrates sound professional judgement including the ability to identify issues/concerns and consult where appropriate.
• Flexible, positive outlook with a commitment to team working.
