Job Description
The Team

KPMG is building a "best in class" Testing Practice with a clear mission - to accelerate business change. By leveraging KPMG's considerable in-house industry knowledge with the leading test tools, methods and practices, KPMG is seeking to help our clients deliver efficient, high-quality change – while minimising risk.
We are currently looking to recruit Advisors who can make a significant contribution to the continuing development of KPMG’s Testing Practice within the Management Consulting Technology Enablement team, through sector expertise, client engagement and delivery of new business opportunities.
You will help define and grow the Testing Practice, taking responsibility for revenue targets, expanding the pipeline of opportunities and developing value propositions for the market in which we operate.

The Financial Services Technology Delivery Centre (FSTDC) is at the heart of our strategy to build digital platforms on which we can run business operations for our banking and insurance clients. It’s where we define and build fully cloud-based platforms using techniques such as Behaviour Driven / Test Driven Development (BDD/TDD); Agile methodology (SCRUM) and Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD).
As a test lead/manager within the FSTDC, you will be: -
- Working within a deep business and technically focussed team to deliver digital applications to support our clients.
- Assessing problems from multiple business and technical angles to ensure all relevant issues are considered.
- Proactively driving forward new and creative ideas which benefit the client and develops KPMG’s digital offering.
- Working collaboratively with client business and IT teams to design and develop test suites for functional & technical testing of applications with a focus in innovative test design techniques.
- Managing the execution of test suites within a fast-paced delivery environment and report results in stand-ups and capture key metrics over time for input to retrospectives.
- Proactively driving forward new and creative ideas and tools which benefit the team and KPMG as a whole.

- You have gained deep business and technical knowledge and are confident to quickly learn new business/technology skills within a deep content-based environment.
- You are an experienced test leader of medium to large testing projects across a variety of IT technology platforms (ideally banking and finance applications)
- You have excellent knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle including understanding the various types of testing
- You are an expert in test design and test design techniques and able to develop advanced test plans, acceptance criteria and test conditions from user stories, technical designs and specifications
- You have the ability to assess testing risks and give clear input to support go-live business decisions.
- You have excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior management and stakeholders, and to build and maintain strong team and client relationships
- You have a degree in a numerate or computing related subject and ISEB/ISTQB qualified
- You possess strong analytical & troubleshooting skills
- You are a team leader with passion to motivate, engage and instil learning culture on the job
- You have excellent skills in acquiring and analysing test data
- You have experience delivering testing programmes by working closely with technology functions throughout the delivery lifecycle to enable a seamless transition to implementation within tight timeframes
- You are able to manage the process of raising, investigating and resolving test defects in a structured manner working with the broad team to solve issues and provide solutions

Desirable Skills
- Experience of Agile Scrum, Kanban, behavioural-driven development (BDD), and continuous integration
- Knowledge of SQL and Enterprise Transformation and Load (ETL) processes and technologies.
- Knowledge of Atlassian tools including Jira, Confluence and Stash
- Experience testing in Azure & Amazon Web Services environments
