The Team

KPMG Pensions is a leading edge strategic pensions’ advisory, actuarial, administration and investment practice. We deliver advice to employers and trustees and their senior people on all aspects of their pension arrangements.

The Role

We are seeking to expand our Senior Management team and are seeking to recruit an experienced professional Pensions Insurance consultant.

Roles and Responsibilities

In the Pensions Insurance advisory team we deliver de-risking strategy, broking and implementation advice to a wide range of corporate and trustee pensions clients. Projects include buy-ins, solvent and PPF buy-outs, longevity swaps and pensions consolidator transactions of all sizes.

We are looking for a Senior Manager with pensions insurance experience to manage and lead on insurance de-risking projects. Your role on these projects will include the following:

- Being responsible for the high quality and complex strategy advice and written deliverables, often on multiple concurrent projects
- Being credible and confident delivering advice verbally to senior decision makers at our clients
- Running large scale projects end to end
- Managing a team of reports on each project, giving regular on the job feedback to develop them
- Building excellent relationships with clients and prospects, KPMG’s client teams and the insurers, reinsurers and consolidators
- Looking for new de-risking opportunities through new or existing clients
- Responding to invitations to tender
- Sharing your specialist knowledge across the pensions team
- Playing a lead role in setting our strategy and improving the quality of our offering through innovation
- Being responsible for risk and compliance procedures on each project

The Person

Professional qualifications

This role will be suitable for senior experienced Pensions consultants who are ideally FIA/FFA or CFA qualified, although this is not essential. The individual should have experience of leading de-risking projects and client relationships at Board and Trustee level. You will be given responsibility for existing clients and also to support the Partners and Directors in winning new business. In addition to proven technical and client consulting experience (including examples of leading de-risking projects), individuals are to have strong communication skills and be able to demonstrate that they can develop the people they work with in order to deliver quality work to clients and achieve their career goals.

Background and Experience

Successful candidates will have the following attributes/experience:

- Significant experience working in the pensions industry, in particular on pension insurance de-risking projects
- Excellent understanding of the UK pensions landscape and issues facing clients
- Knowledge of the key insurance and reinsurance providers as well as the competitive landscape for pensions de-risking amongst employee benefit consultancies.
- Consistently able to work at high level of intensity whilst maintaining a professional and positive approach
- Fully engaged and taking responsibility for own performance
- Contributes to the development of others
- Seeks opportunities to develop internal KPMG network and knowledge of other areas of the business
