Senior Manager - Internal Immigration

Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide operational oversight across all aspects of the immigration process, ensuring day-to-day execution of service commitments including rigorous quality controls and service enhancements
- Establish and maintain good working relationship with the UK immigration authorities
- Liaise with the UK immigration authorities, addressing any issues that may have impact on KPMG
- Implement effective structured processes to minimise compliance risks
- Oversee the team undertaking KPMG internal immigration case management and provide solicitor oversight/review/sign-off.
- Establish effective work management systems.
- Ensure the team has the appropriate level of technical expertise and appropriate guidance to provide the required services to the Firm
- Manage the provision of advisory support to the business for all internal immigration requirements
- Manage effective communication processes with key stakeholders such as employees, recruitment, global mobility and HR/People
- Focus on improving internal immigration support processes
- Establish an SLA framework including a timely escalation process
- Ensure strong rigor and control in line with legislation and compliance requirements
- Develop service and process “early warning indicators” to minimise the risk to the Firm
- Adapt to ongoing legislative changes ensuring processes are “fit for purpose”
- Provide ongoing training to the team and to the businessQualifications and Skills

KPMG is looking for a senior solicitor with a proven track record running an internal / in-house immigration function.

Experience and Background

It’s expected the individual will have 10 years of relevant immigration experience, and at least 5 years as a manager within a large organisation. The applicant must be a UK immigration SME and will have a vast experience of handling a wide range of corporate immigration matters as follows:
- Work Visas (ICT, Skilled Worker)
- Sponsor Management System and licence holder compliance obligations
- Family applications
- Prevention of illegal working/Right To Work
- Student and Graduate routes
- Immigration policy design
- Right of Abode
- Citizenship
- Refusals
- Negotiation with the UK immigration authorities including UK Border ForceIn addition, we are looking for the following:
- Authentic and transparent senior manager with a high ‘say/do’ ratio, focused on execution
- Experience in operational, service delivery and management within a legal / compliance structure
- Strategic thinker, proven ability to anticipate and resolve complex scenarios
- Proven ability in leading large-scale transformation change
- Client-focused approach with a passion for delivering excellence
- Ability to influence at a senior level and manage complex stakeholder relationships
- Experience of working cross functionally, especially across matrix organisations - with strong working relationships across HR Centres of Excellence and wider business units
- Experience of offshoring and / or working with an offshore provider
- Strong project and change management skills providing a sense of purpose and direction
- Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas in plain language and in a pragmatic manner
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
