The Corporate Affairs team consists of five areas: internal communications, Chairman Communications, Citizenship, public policy and strategic communications (social media, corporate media and issues management and function / sector based communication).

The Role

The Senior Communications Manager leads the development and execution of the GC&K internal communications strategy. Working closely with members of the senior leadership team, the Senior Communications Manager drives the development and execution of GC&K program and product communication plans that will raise awareness across KPMG and drive adoption of GC&K solutions. The GC&K program is a part of the Global Technology and Knowledge group (GTeK) and the Senior Communications Manager will ensure alignment of the communications strategies across these two groups.

To develop, manage and execute on a strategic internal communications plan for Global C&K, aligned to wider Global Corporate Affairs and Global C&K ambitions. This will involve:

- Supporting the Global Head of C&K with leadership communications, breathing creativity, energy and direction to their messaging and channel management;
- Building, maintaining and developing a connected network of C&K communicators across our network of member firms, bringing direction and precision to the cascade of information to key audiences;
- Producing high-quality and impactful internal communications, whether face-to-face activity, digital or hard-copy;
- Working with external communication colleagues and beyond to drive issues and solutions led internal communications, including launch support for priority thought leadership and solutions internally;
- Accountability for establishing and meeting key output and impact communication KPIs that support C&K’s strategic priorities.
To redefine the relationship between national and global communications. This will involve:

- Ensuring that globally agreed strategic communication priorities are rolled-out once and well in member firms.
- Listening and delivering on the needs of business leaders by leveraging best practice.
- Connecting key stakeholders where they share common commercial or business interests.
- Putting member firm needs at the heart of all internal communication activities.

Key Accountabilities

- Strategic communications counsel to C&K leadership
- Develop and lead the execution of a GC&K Communications Strategy and Plan
- Community based communications and network building
- Develop and maintain a customer & key stakeholder communities maps
- Develop and maintain a working inventory of internal communications channels
- Advises on the effective use of various communications channels, monitors and tracks usage, readership, message penetration and effectiveness and applies continuous real-time process improvement to GC&K communications activities
- Maintains awareness and familiarity with the firm’s global communications campaigns, resources, processes and policies in order to leverage and amplify these in support of GC&K communications activities
- Develops and deploys measurement activities to test campaign effectiveness using a variety of data gathering techniques including but not limited to surveys, web stats, interviews and workshops
- Provides routine reporting and presentation of communications activity data to senior leadership team that includes strategic analyses, recommendations for increasing the effectiveness of GC&K solutions and solutions awareness
- Maintains a solid understanding of GC&K resources, programs, and projects
- Maintains a solid understanding of the C&K related programs and projects of KPMG’s global functions and top 20 member firms across the KPMG network
- Project manage ad hoc communications initiatives that support the strategic agenda of the C&K programs and projects of KPMG’s global functions and top 20 member firms across the KPMG network

- Proven experience in communications (internal communications).
- Ability to lead, manage, collaborate and influence with virtual and cross functional and sector teams, including senior executives
- Strong project management skills with the ability to get buy-in and support for projects from diverse and often widespread stakeholders.
- Proven experience applying digital and social media assets and platforms in a communications strategy.
