Senior Manager - Global Clients and Markets Communications

The role jointly sits with Global Corporate Affairs function, which is responsible for protecting and strengthening the firm’s reputation, overseeing public policy, supporting the firm’s trust and growth agenda and ensuring that KPMG’s people have the information they need to fulfil KPMG’s ambition.

The Global Clients and Markets Communications Senior Manager will develop and execute communication strategies and plans that articulate the vision, strategy, services and benefits of the Global Clients and Markets team. The role is also tasked with helping to transform the way Global Clients & Markets communicates with its key stakeholders - globally, regionally and in-country.

The successful incumbent will support the Head of Global Clients and Markets on specific communications and the Global Client & Markets leadership team, providing both strategic communications counsel to help frame our trust and growth ambition, and tactical delivery of communications for key audience engagement. As the role will work across existing team structures, the incumbent will need to be comfortable in working with, and taking direction from, multiple stakeholders and have the ability to fit within and complement existing team relationships. The successful candidate will also create and provide subject matter expertise for a full range of organizational communications and editorial services.

Finally, the role will also be tasked with supporting GCM team engagement, from organizing townhalls to supporting regular team newsletters.

This is a hands-on role and will appeal to a seasoned communications professional who enjoys setting others up for success, is comfortable engaging with both senior and junior stakeholders and enjoys working in a fast-paced client-centric environment.

A coordinated Global Clients and Markets communication strategy has a direct impact on KPMGI’s goals and objectives: to enhance the ability of our priority accounts and member firms to compete more effectively in the global marketplace, and to facilitate the development and delivery of services to multi-national clients.

The incumbent will be part of the Global Corporate Affairs team, with a dotted line to the Global Clients and Markets team. Based in London, UK, he/she will report to the Head of Communications with a dual pen reporting line into the GCM COO & Head of Market Development.

Key Accountabilities

- Set the strategic direction for Global Clients and Markets communications, working with GCM leadership to prioritize programs and deliverables, particularly in respect to Global Lead Partners and Heads of Markets and Global Sector Leaders
- Develop and implement communications strategies and key messages for GCM collectively and also for the each of the key GCM divisions e.g. Market Development, Marketing, Global Accounts, Sectors
- Produce high-quality and impactful communications, whether face to face (for conferences and townhalls), electronic (portal and email) or hard-copy (reports and thought leadership)
- Support the Head of Global Clients and Markets on specific communications required such as video scripts and production and social media (Linkedin etc.)
- Through building and cultivating key relationships with members of the Global Clients and Markets Team, the Regional teams, and Global Corporate Affairs, raise awareness and visibility of Global Clients and Markets, breathing creativity and energy into its messaging and channels.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

- The successful candidate must be able to operate in a highly matrixed organization and have the ability to influence the actions of the organization’s most senior leaders. Strong and proven commercial instincts and technical internal communications knowledge must be combined with resilience, cultural awareness and diplomacy to achieve stakeholder engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree required.


- Significant years of experience in internal communications, with a solid grasp of the professional services environment
- A strong writer with corporate and/or change management communication experience
- Proven relationship-building skills, able to hold their own with senior leaders.
- Change agent experience, preferably on major cross-border transformation initiatives.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage numerous projects simultaneously across multiple time zones.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able and available to travel at request.
