Senior Manager – Capital Markets Consultant / Project Manager

The Role
Responsible for leading technology-enabled consulting engagements with Investment Banking clients across the full project lifecycle, with a regulatory focus. The candidate will have a strong project / programme management track record in capital markets with business knowledge across front / middle / back office
domains. They will have good technology delivery skills and experience of regulatory driven transformation projects. The candidate will be able to use this mix of capabilities to shape and lead technology-related business change engagements (medium sized projects, circa £1-3m+ in fees), and will probably have experience of working in a consulting firm.

The Person
- Extensive business knowledge in capital markets across front / middle / back office domains.
- Front-to-back understanding of investment banking business processes.
- Detailed understanding of products in at least one asset class, e.g. cash securities (equities / fixed income), exchange traded derivatives, OTC derivatives, FX, commodities.
- Familiarity with several tier 1 investment banking organisations specifically gained through delivery of business-led technology projects.
- Able to lead credible conversations with clients by demonstrating insight into the capital markets industry, including trends, challenges, market conventions and priorities.

Skills:
- Systems development lifecycle for waterfall and agile type projects.
- Project management, client relationship management, stakeholder engagement.
- Engagement shaping and planning.
- Familiarity with business analysis artefacts (including requirements definition, process mapping, op model definition), systems integration, systems implementation, testing.
- Familiarity with business / application architecture artefacts, solution definitions, integrationarchitectures.
- Solid problem solving, decision making and analytical capabilities.
- Confident in dealing with complexity or ambiguity and setting direction, bringing stakeholders along on the way.

Experience:
- Track record of shaping and leading teams to successfully deliver significant technology, data and
business transformation initiatives.
- Experience of managing multi-faceted technology-enabled projects / programmes, co-ordinating tasks and activities, managing to deadlines, anticipating challenges, difficulties and pressure points.
- Experience of identifying and mitigating delivery risks, as well as leading the resolution of issues / blockers.
- Adept at working closely with business, technology and data teams.
- Understands options for project / programme delivery structures and governance models.
- Protects against scope creep against the solution design and establishes robust change control processes.
- Cost management, including the establishment of baseline costs and tracking, and contingency planning.
