Job DescriptionBusiness Partnering

Develop an understanding of the business being supported, being proactive to learn about products / services / markets
Support local stakeholders within the supported business area to understand the business performance and the key drivers
Produce MI, data analysis and other reporting for local stakeholders per the organisation design, mandating the use of centralised MI and other tools as appropriate
Support the business in the understanding, use and reporting of all performance KPIs - especially those that have a commercial impact
Be the subject matter expert for engagement related performance questions from engagement teams – including training and education
Support the business with complex process and administration queries and requests which are outside of the scope of OEH SoW

Commercial Management

Support the preparation for Deal Board and other pre-engagement processes -especially around engagement budgeting
Support in-flight commercial reviews as directed by the AFM

Plan / Budget / Forecast

Support the Finance work-stream in relation to Business planning, budgeting and forecasting

Financial Control / Management

Execute processes to ensure that the accounts accurately reflect the financial position of the business
Review cost management processes to ensure good controls are in place around spend
Support the IT / expense / e-payables coding processes. Investigating and escalating as required
Help to ensure Finance processes and policies are adhered to. Challenge deviation and always be forward thinking about improvements
Be aware of and support timesheet, suspense and other finance related processes and the implication for financial results

Working Capital Management

Support the FBP in the management and review of Working Capital KPIs for the MU
Monitor the business actions on WIP and debt items and highlight EL/EM underperformance to ensure it is escalated

Team Management

Day to day supervision of junior team workload and job cover arrangements
Support recruitment across Business Finance as required
Take on some training / mentoring responsibilities for junior and new members of the team

Finance Community

Play a role in the broader finance community, including active participation in meetings, forums and projects
Be an advocate for change programmes delivered by Finance / KBS, including automation tools, self-service, standardisation and any other changes in ways of working

Skills and Experience

Part qualified accountant, AAT or Finance / business degree with relevant experience of accounting in an operational or professional services environment
Resilient and able to work with multiple and highly demanding stakeholders
Problem solving abilities
Attention to detail
