The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of our Deal Advisory Go-To-Market strategy where you will be supporting our ‘Sell-side’ proposition; a key strategic initiative aimed at driving incremental and sustainable growth in our sell-side advisory business. This is a priority for Deal Advisory and your role will work with our core Sell-side team, Sector and Service line leads, the Deal Advisory leadership, and clients across our key sectors. The role is to support the Head of Sell-side and the proposition Director in driving, supporting and implementing the strategy for KPMG’s sell-side proposition across all sectors and service lines within Deal Advisory. You will interact regularly with the sector community at Deal Advisory, wider UK and global levels as required. At the heart of this strategy is our clients, and you will be working with the sector community to engage with clients across various mediums, including attending business development meetings, running and supporting sell-side workshops and assisting with insights and thought leadership.
The role will be broad, varied and fast–paced and whilst there will be some regular, repeat activities, there will also be high priority ad hoc projects. The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude; will thrive in an environment of driving change; and be comfortable using their initiative.
What does this look like in practice?

Pipeline Management
• Liaise weekly with go to market/sector led teams to ensure the sell-side pipeline is capturing opportunities from across the sectors and their must wins / horizon scanning efforts.
• Arrange, participate and lead sell-side pipeline calls on a monthly / quarterly basis with Sector and wider DA service lines.
• Build and maintain a live sell-side pipeline across DA. This requires you to be connected with various parts of the Deal Advisory community (e.g. Corporate Finance, Transaction Services, Strategy & Value Creation, etc) from a service line perspective but more importantly being closely linked to the DA Sector teams (e.g. Consumer, TMT, ENR, Life Sciences, Industrials, Insurance, Banking etc.) in order to leverage intelligence feeds and business development efforts.
• Actively bring ideas to the table by participating and contributing to brainstorming sessions and proactively working with sector teams to initiate, coordinate and contribute to internal and external sell-side pursuits.
• Build a strong network across the UK sector teams with an ambition to broaden this network across sector peers in the international member firms (Europe / US to begin with) leading to international collaboration and benefit for all member firms.

• Using the information and intelligence gathered from Pipeline management, work with sector teams to generate sell-side ideas (M&A themes leading to non-core disposals, keeping a close eye on market announcements for large corporates, conducting company deep-dives to contribute to facilitate discussions with large corporate clients on sell-side and non-core disposals).
• Driving proposals for new sell-side opportunities.
• Work on developing external sell-side best practice workshop materials, participate in those workshops and help with sell-side origination.

Service Line Development
• Work on collating all our sell-side resources in one place by maintaining the in-house intranet portal with the latest reference materials, proposal materials, case studies, best practice, credentials all in one place. This will again require working across DA, so we capture the information across sectors and service lines.
• Work on developing our external marketing presence including a dedicated sell-side presence on our external website, maintaining the sell-side intranet portal, thought leadership, LinkedIn presence etc.
• Help work together with the L&D team to develop, offer and promote sell side training, workshops and events.
• Help prepare and participate in all internal and external events related to sell-side to promote this priority initiative across the firm nationwide (e.g. integrated solutions week).

• A client facing Deal Advisory background in a professional services firm.
• Experienced stakeholder management skills - ability to manage a team of senior professionals in a respectful, positive and enthusiastic manner and build relationships at all levels.
• Strong organisational skills with an ability to produce work to tight deadlines with attention to detail.
• Project management experience with strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
• Strong knowledge of professional services organisations and professional services account management, sales & marketing.
• Strong commercial acumen.
• Self-starter with the ability to proactively build an internal network of contacts across UK and Europe.
