Job Description
The Team
Solutions and Digital is a division of KPMG UK that develops and delivers innovative, technology-enabled solutions to solve clients’ complex business problems.
Here in the Security Operations team, we are tasked with keeping these solutions safe and sound on a day to day basis, and we are good at it! But we could be even better..

The Role
We are seeking a passionate and adaptive team leader to join our awesome Security Operations team and help take the reins on monitoring and developing the day to day security of the Solutions and Digital division of KPMG.
The person we are looking for will look after the Security Operations team as a senior connection point for junior team members but also as a deputy for the Security Operations Manager.
What we are looking for from you

- You will also help the Security Operations Manager to develop continued improvement of the overall security posture.
- You’ll have responsibility for the delivery of the Security Operations team, ensuring key processes and procedures are followed.
- You will also identify smart ways for the Security Operations team to operate more efficiently.
- You will be calm and collected in high pressure situations, able to navigate through complex security problems to find a root cause or balanced outcome.
- You’ll help oversee the protective controls in place across the estates and ensure action is taken in areas of high risk.
- You’ll help the team be well prepared for all types of incidents, including helping to ensure any forensic needs are accommodated and that we learn from any incidents to prevent reoccurrences.
- You may need to get involved in particularly complex security incidents so you need to know your way around information systems pretty well.
- You’ll help ensure that our leaders have the low-down on what our team is working on, where we’re having trouble and how well we are doing; you’ll need to be good at writing easy to understand reports but with a keen eye for detail!

The Person
- You will have ideally worked for the last 4 years’ in a Security Operations role.
- You will have Ideally worked for the last 8 years’ in a technology role that incorporates security; preferably infrastructure or service desk orientated.
- You’ll have used a variety of security tooling across the spectrum, both in implementing them and maintaining them, covering things like IPS/IDS, AV, SIEM tools, Vulnerability Scanning.
- You’ll have had experience and understanding of Public or Private Cloud technologies, examples being AWS and VMware NSX.
- You’ll have spent time learning to gain Information Security certifications, especially with a cloud-focus.
- You’ll have worked to give detailed yet to the point messages to a range of stakeholders, technical and not technical.
- You’ll have helped develop and keep teams connected.

Certs you’ll ideally have
- Networking Certification (CCNA or similar)
- Cloud Certification (CCSP or similar)
- IT Management Certification (ITIL or similar)
