Job Description
The Role
KPMG’s Global Security Operations Centre helps defend KPMG and its clients from cyber-attacks, through timely detection, investigation and remediation of potential threats.

The Managed Firewall Service Lead will be responsible for operational delivery and support of KPMG Palo Alto deployments.

The position will require in-depth working knowledge of supporting Palo Alto firewalls and related devices following industry standards and best practices:
- Serve as a subject matter expert recommending standards, coordinating and troubleshooting issues with customers.
- Analyse network security requirements keeping up-to-date with evolving security threats and new technologies.
- Manage the firewall estate, establishing and enforcing KPMG approved policies and standards.
- Provide an escalation path for operations, developing concise documentation and SOPs.
- Monitor network performance troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients.

The Person
Working alongside a team of highly motivated and experienced network/security engineers the successful candidate will be required to support KPMG Member Firms subscribing to the service.

You will have a wide range of responsibilities, including:
- Ensuring 95% of faults are resolved within the Engineering team.
- Delivering excellent customer service at all times.
- Adhering to strict Service Level Agreements for fault resolutions and service requests completions.
- Ensuring that Member Firms are kept informed of the progress throughout the lifecycle.
- Identifying, liaising and managing any escalated faults with 3rd party suppliers for major incidents.
- Providing fault isolation and root cause analysis for technical issues suggesting improvements for prevention of recurring problems.
- Publishing technical support bulletins and other technical documentation in the Knowledge Base, and Mentoring 1st/2nd line staff.
- Reviewing technical documentation for training materials, technical marketing collateral, manuals, troubleshooting guides, etc.
- Providing on-call support 24x7 as a member of the on call rotor.
- Exercising judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Ensuring work is completed in such a way to comply with established compliance and other internal control requirements.
- Implementing features as defined in global configuration standards.

Qualifications, experience and skills
Significant experience of operating in a network/security engineering role having end to end responsibility including:
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks security technologies including Wildfire, AV/Threat Prevention, URL filtering, User-ID and Panorama.
- Over 5 years' experience working in complex corporate network environments.
- Over 5 years' experience implementing and supporting firewall solutions within medium to large, complex organizations. (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Cisco FWSM, Check Point, Juniper, etc.)
- Strong familiarity with routing, switching, and bridging in both LAN & WAN environments.
- Strong understanding of OSI model, Layer-2, Layer-3 switching (Spanning Tree, Ether-Channels, VLANs, etc).
- Experience in supporting hosting services (DNS, Proxy Filtering, Firewall Changes, Mail Relays, web hosting)
- Experience of WAN/LAN infrastructure support and SNMP monitoring products preferably Solarwinds NPM.
- Established track record of troubleshooting technical issues through to resolution.
- Must be a self-starter, able to work with limited supervision & be able to work well with others in a globally diverse IT environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills a must.
- Firewall and network management qualifications such as PCNSE, CCNP Security, CCSE or FNSE (or equivalent skill level).

Working hours
- Working hours are 09:30-17:30 Mon-Fri (plus on-call)
