Strategic Procurement Advisory (SPA) is a new, diverse and fast-growing team that is part of the wider Strategic Advisory Services Team with IAG. SPA advises organisations on strategic procurement (e.g. design and construction), including packaging, supplier selection, and commercial and contracting strategy. Our work includes developing and shaping programme delivery models for major government and infrastructure clients throughout the UK. We typically work on some of the most novel and complex issues that government, corporate and major programme clients are grappling with. Our clients look to us for novel ideas about partnering, collaboration, achieving value and managing complex stakeholder relationships.

The Role
Managers perform a critical role leading client workstreams, supporting business development and helping our team to grow and develop.

Key areas where Managers contribute to the team include:
Develop solutions to complex problems and collaborate with more senior colleagues and clients
Generate hypotheses and take ownership in storyboarding in cooperation with the team
Lead the design and delivery of small projects and / or large, complex work streams
Produce client ready deliverables that exceed expectations and require limited review
To work effectively with clients whilst delivering engagements and act as an ‘ambassador’ for KPMG
Contribute to the development of the team and fostering our collaborative and supportive team culture
Provide timely feedback and coaching to your team members
Work on the development of the SPA proposition and knowledge base
Support the identification of on-sell / cross-sell opportunities
Build and maintain a strong internal and external network
Demonstrate high levels of drive, ambition, and ability to collaborate at high levels of intensity

The Person
We are looking for applicants who display the following:
Demonstrate deep expertise and an ability to generate insights in the sector with a demonstrated passion for working on critical issues facing the government and infrastructure sectors
Ability to lead parts of complex projects or programmes in procurement
Ability to display involvement in business development activity e.g. building relationships with clients during engagements
Experience in contributing to thought leadership and knowledge management activities
Be comfortable handling ambiguity and changing client demands
Strong numerical capabilities combined with sound commercial acumen
Excellent English written and oral communication skills
Background in commercial & contracting strategy (NEC experience desirable), procurement strategy and processes, supply chain management
Understanding of differences between transactional and collaborative delivery models for infrastructure projects and programmes and the challenges experienced in making these effective
Experience working on a large procurement transactions, ideally for infrastructure projects and programmes
Professional qualification (or working towards one) such as MCIPS, MRICS or relevant postgraduate degrees welcome
A willingness to travel
