We are currently growing our Reward Consulting practice and are looking to hire a Director to join our dynamic practice in London.

The Team:

The Reward practice at KPMG helps organisations to attract, retain and engage employees by advising on the design, tax, market practice, and governance, regulatory and accounting aspects of executive and broader employee reward structures. The team sits within the People Services practice, which advises on a wider range of people issues within an organisation. This provides an opportunity for consultants to work closely with other internal functions (Tax, Accounting, Legal and Advisory) to deliver joined-up and commercial solutions to clients.

Our client base ranges from technology start-ups through to larger FTSE listed companies, allowing for an exciting mix of work from a highly diverse client base.

The Role:

We are looking for talented individuals who are eager to play a key role developing executive compensation consulting within the reward team. The role offers a great degree of autonomy to influence and shape the strategy and assist with the growth of the executive compensation practice. There will be strong support from the national and local leadership team to help the right candidate implement their plan and establish their network at KPMG.

Building relationships with other teams within KPMG and with clients externally to maximise our penetration in the market place;
Working closely with other members of the local and national People Services management team to ensure that opportunities are effectively shared around the people agenda;

Developing the existing team, and helping to identify areas in which there are opportunities to strengthen the team with new resource;

- Identifying leads, developing proposals and winning new business with the support of the existing Reward Partners
- Leading and managing client projects such as designing share plans, advising on the structuring of management incentive plans, global incentive plan reviews or advising on the implications of corporate events on existing arrangements;
- The will also be the opportunity for this role to be involved in broad all employee reward projects
- Maintaining, developing and ultimately managing KPMG’s strong relationships with clients, including discussing broader ‘people issues’ with clients and recognising opportunities to assist clients across different specialisms (e.g. pensions, employment taxes, legal services);
- Working with other teams (for example, private client, M&A, Corporate Finance) to deliver integrated advice to clients in relation to their business issues;
- Ensuring that the training and development needs of the local team are satisfied, from both a technical and non-technical perspective, as well as contributing to the development of training nationally;
- Helping to develop innovative solutions and opportunities for clients, and being part of initiatives to bring those solutions to market;
- Advising on technical issues and supporting the team’s knowledge management.

Background and experience:

- An experienced executive compensation specialist
- The candidate will be fully versed in relevant regulations and guidelines including the Corporate Governance Code, Investment Association guidelines, other proxy agencies and significant institutional investors
- Experience of advising on plan design, drafting plan documents and advising on the tax, legal and regulatory aspects of share plans and other employee reward arrangements including experience of advising on the incentive aspects of M&A transactions. This would ideally include experience of private equity arrangements.
- Experience in a previous consultancy role and with a business development focus
