Role Overview

Reporting to the Head of Experienced Hire Recruitment, the Tax Recruitment Lead is responsible for leading the development of recruitment strategy and overseeing recruitment delivery for the whole of Tax, Pensions and Legal. They are the primary point of contact for senior business stakeholders.

The Experienced Hire recruitment team is responsible for leading and delivering the Firm’s recruitment strategy for Senior Manager (B) – Analyst (E) grades, with a specific focus on hiring into Senior Manager (B) & Manager (C) grade roles and working closely with colleagues managing recruitment into other grades. Our aim is to ensure that KPMG is a “magnet for talent”.

Deliverables and Accountability:

Recruitment Strategy:

- Ownership of strategic relationship with key business stakeholders: to understand the people aspects of their business strategy in order to build the recruitment strategy
- Responsible for building an achievable strategy for timely and cost effective delivery of resource from the highest quality and most diverse talent pools
- Accountable for collating and socialising pertinent MI and market insights to inform business decisions
- Consistent communication and re-enforcement of key messages e.g. D&I, with the Capability leadership and other stakeholders
- Collaboration with interdependent stakeholders: e.g. Senior Hires team, RPO providers, HR Leads, D&I, Recruitment Branding to deliver joined up approach to recruitment
- Develop external profile to offer thought leadership, gather market knowledge around competitor activity & industry trends, and share this information appropriately
- Act as ambassador for KPMG through effective networking and social media

Recruitment Delivery

- Work closely with key stakeholders to agree a service delivery framework against which the team will be measured
- Accountable for driving delivery of recruitment services against this framework and in line with agreed performance management targets
- Drive commitment to meeting diversity targets and delivering high quality candidate experience including robust and efficient selection methodologies
- Oversee delivery of RPO providers to support them in meeting their goals and to act as an escalation point for any challenges


- Lead a team of managers and recruiters; communicating vision, holding team accountable for delivery and inspiring team to performance excellence
- Manage performance of direct reports
- Provide guidance on Tax needs to RPO providers and oversee their delivery

Essential skills

- Deep recruitment expertise: preferably gained within an in house professional services team
- Strong market knowledge is required and experience of working in Tax, Pensions & Legal would be beneficial
- Excellent communication skills: High impact persuasive communicator who can successfully manage a diverse group of senior stakeholders often with conflicting requirements
- Collaborative leader: including driving inclusion, leading by example, seeking continuous improvement from self and others and holding others accountable for performance
- Flexible and resilient: demonstrates innovation in approach to problem solving and delivering service; able to adapt to an ever changing landscape, responding to commercial and compliance needs whilst driving for continuous improvement


- Based in London, or in a regional office with ability to work in London 2 or 3 days/week.
