Job Description
The Team
The role will be working within our Risk consulting team which is one of the areas which KPMG has identified for tremendous investment and growth.

As our clients seek to improve the customer experience, create value and obtain competitive advantage associated with trust in their brand, the ability to leverage personal information assets in the right way is crucial.

The increasing take-up of cloud computing, globalisation of systems, processes and supply chains, together with the proliferation of social media and mobile devices means our clients are transferring more and more personal information around the world.

This, in addition to the constantly evolving nature of organisations via mergers and acquisitions and organisational restructuring, new system implementations and the complex, changing legal and regulatory landscapes in which organisations operate, has resulted in Records Management around Privacy and Cyber being of the tougher challenges currently facing our clients.

Our clients need to deal effectively with Records Management related Privacy and Cyber related risks, which providing the business with pragmatic and flexible solutions which deliver real value.

The Role
You will be a Manager specialising in Records and Information Management (RIM) with a good understanding of Privacy and Cyber Security RIM issues. You should expect to be involved in a wide range of challenging engagements, ranging from supporting clients with shaping and delivering a wide range of client engagements based on their need.

As a Senior Manager in our team, we expect you to have an understanding of Financial Services, Corporates and Government sectors and to be able to drive delivery of solutions to complex client issues.

- Have strong RIM implementation and risk experience, with particular focus on defensible and risk based deletion
- Experience in RIM, privacy and cyber governance, risk and compliance frameworks and controls
- Have an understanding of legal and regulatory RIM requirements across sectors
- Be an expert in developing privacy strategies, architectures and implementation roadmaps that include consideration of traditionally problematic areas such as governance, consent management, privacy by design and development of information retention schedules and pragmatic approaches to retention and deletion
- Maintain strong knowledge of privacy related regulations and guidance from the ICO.
- Initiate, develop and challenge thought leadership in all areas of privacy, RIM and Cyber targeting a C-level audience.
- Perform privacy maturity assessments and RIM capability assessments and more technical design and implementation reviews
- Participate knowledgably in technical decision processes
- Understand that RIM, privacy and cyber security are cross-cutting disciplines and be able to manage the political implications across a wide range of business stakeholders when discussing the intersections of these within client organisations
- Proactive management and delivery of large, complex client engagements to ensure the following are carried out:
o Design and approach of services meet client needs
o Scoping and production of deliverables
o Project and financial management
o Review of team deliverables for quality and risk purposes
o Liaising with clients on delivery and implementation issues
o Identifying business development opportunities
- Build and manage client relationships across a number of clients
- Actively identify and progress business development opportunities, as well as managing sales activities such as proposal development and assisting with client presentations
- Develop internal networks and maintain relationships with colleagues across other teams within KPMG.

The Person
- Proven experience in a RIM, and a strong undertaking of privacy and cyber RIM related issues.
- Proven ability to identify and assess complex risks and to understand the mechanisms (people, process, technology) available to manage those risks
- Experience in and an understanding of the RIM, cyber and privacy risks faced by clients within a specific industry and the impact to their business
- Strong design and implementation experience of at least one RIM, cyber and privacy management programme
- Strong knowledge of the core concepts underlying privacy – consent, fair processing, legal bases for processing, anonymization/pseudonymisation, privacy by design
- Familiarity with privacy-relevant legislation and regulations, including the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), Privacy Shield, E-Privacy, the UK Data Protection Act 1998.
- Excellent communication skills and report writing skills
- Ability to develop excellent relationships both internally and with clients
- Capacity to deliver work within tight timescales to a high quality
- Degree level educated, IT or relevant subject (preferred)
- A genuine interest and desire to work in the privacy field, accompanied by the flexibility to work on other areas of information security and assurance.
