Global Legal Services (GLS) is an integral part of Global Tax & Legal and is one of KPMG’s key Collective Strategies and a Global Priority Solution. A key part of the GLS growth strategy is to build out our Global Managed Legal Projects solution.

The Role

The primary purpose of this role is to successfully lead the implementation of the build-out of our Global Managed Legal Projects solution. The Global Managed Legal Projects solution will provide a market leading global project management capability supported by a technology platform designed to deliver complex multi-jurisdictional transactions for clients in a more streamlined efficient manner. This will also unlock revenue for KPMG GLS member firms by allow focus on high margin in-jurisdiction legal advice and services.

Specific areas of responsibility includes:

Planning and project set-up

- Form SteerCo for governance of project
- Create reporting structure
Proof of concept (‘POC’)
- Agree format, jurisdictions and key personnel for POC with SteerCo
- Define KPIs and success criteria for POC
- Begin recruitment process for key personnel (e.g. IBR process SME, IBR automation SME, GPMO resource in UK and Australia)Asset build
- Work with UK KPMG Law technology team to develop technology platform to support Global Managed Legal Projects solution
- Identify local and global assets to be built to support Global Managed Legal Projects solution
- Identify local SMEs to support local asset builds
Scale-up
- Assess success criteria and KPIs against POC with SteerCo
- Assuming success criteria have been met for POC – POC to be rolled out across additional 25 jurisdictions
- Phased timeline for roll-out across additional jurisdictions to be agreed with SteerCo
Key Accountabilities
- Be the Program Project Manager with primary responsibility for delivering the build out of our Global Managed Legal Projects solution
- Work with the Global Managed Legal Projects SteerCo to implement the business plan to deliver the build of the Global Managed Legal Projects solution (identify the priorities, risks, issues, resources etc. and move forward on achievement of agreed goals)
- Work with UK KPMG Law technology team to develop technology platform to support Global Managed Legal Projects solution
- Build and maintain relationships with SteerCo, GLS Leadership, Local SMEs and the project execution team to successfully deliver the build of the our GLS Global Managed Legal Projects solution
- Prepare presentations, reports, financial analysis on behalf of the GLS Leadership as required for reporting purposes and progress against agreed goals
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Senior level project management skills to deliver a large-scale global solution supported by a technology platform
- Senior experienced project manager with relevant project management accreditations, qualifications and experienceExperience & Knowledge
- Strong Project Management skills, including sound written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to build confidence of and maintain relationships with peers and senior leaders
- Highly self- motivated, and be good with attention to detail
- Proactive thinker looking at innovative ideas, ways to improve and add value to the process
- Ability to work under pressure and with a high degree of autonomy and ability to deliver on time
- Flexibility particularly working hours, which need to take into account working with multiple timezones
