There is an ever-increasing demand and opportunity to use data more effectively to improve the efficiency and outcomes of public services as well as improving the experience of citizens. Our IGH Data Analytics team helps our clients to better leverage their data, providing the insights and analysis that they need to better integrate and deliver health, social care, and justice services across geographies. We specifically help our customers to:

- Identify and evidence opportunities to operate more efficiently and reduce costs associated with the provision of care and services
- Support the delivery of our health, social care, and justice strategic plans
- Improve the understanding of population level (current and future) service demand and risk; and
- Support public services to bring together data held by different partners, providing a clearer picture of citizens challenges and use of services to support improved decision making.

The Team

We are a rapidly growing business that is looking for a technical leader to help us sustain our growth and to drive the design, technical development and delivery of insight platforms and products. You will be responsible for leading a team of skilled enterprise and solution architects, analytics solution developers. decision scientists, and data analytics professionals, helping them to develop a product suite of Integrated Care Analytics Services, and providing transformational services to our public sector clients.

We expect or data analytics leaders to be established and recognised data analytics professionals with a successful track record of project delivery and relationship development. Our data leaders are advocates of the improved integration of Health, Justice, and Social Care services for all citizens and are adept at explaining and guiding clients to use their data more effectively for this purpose.

The Role

As a Technical Director, you will be responsible for leading, developing and delivering our Integrated Care Analytics Services (ICAS) product suite. You will lead the development of the product and work with colleagues to take the product to market.
You will provide technical analytics solution development and market expertise to help grow our public sector digital and data analytics offerings across the UK. You will also contribute to the successful delivery of other KPMG services across the public sector while establishing a core set of analytics product services of your own related to health and care.

You will build service offerings and take them to market, leading business development including managing bids and proposals and contributing to the development of KPMG’s services through knowledge management and methodology design. You will be responsible for leading successful delivery of product development programmes and engagements, taking ultimate responsibility for the quality of our work and client relationships.

You will manage teams of KPMG professionals on and off engagements, providing leadership and coaching to ensure excellent client delivery whilst enabling their future development. Work will be delivered nationally so willingness to travel is important.


The Person

- Subject Matter Expert (SME) - deep technical competence in healthcare digital products, with substantial experience of digital product development within a health and or care setting.
- Proven track record in the development and delivery of successful analytics products that have delivered SaaS revenues in the healthcare setting.
- Substantial experience integrating health, social care, and government data into analytics solutions;
- Experience of leading analytics programmes across integrated health and social care systems
- Technical accreditations aligned to analytics or solution development such as: MS SQL Certification, MS Solutions Architecture Accreditation, TOGAF,
- Experience in delivering technical product development programmes using Agile methodology. Agile project management or Scrum Master accreditation is desirable.
- Experience in a leadership role managing data analytics and digital projects, effectively engaging clients and senior stakeholders
- Product development and engineering competence – this is fundamentally a digital product leadership role and the successful individual will have deep digital design and engineering skill – with a proven track record of leading the development of digital platforms. The individual must have whole life-cycle digital development experience, including:
o Customer/User centred design
o Co-development with customers and customer forums
o Agile development management
o Testing
o Release and Environments management
o Managed production services
o Sales and go-to-market experience
o Data modelling (SQL, Access) and/or visualisation experience (PowerBi, QlikView, Tableau)
- Healthcare domain competence - experience of the healthcare data and integration environment. Familiarity with the existing integration environment, data transfer standards (FHIR, HL7, SNOMED, IHEXDS etc) will be critical to the role.
- Experience of working work with vendors of population health management solutions (e.g. Graphnet) and also vendors providing operational data feeds too
- Experience of working with technology and data architecture, storage and management solution vendors and alliance partners.
- Platforms competence – the individual must be familiar with the Microsoft stack and have experience of working within the azure environment
- Designing and/or assuring health, social care, or justice analytics offerings including outcome models, dashboards, and other tools
- Helping our analytics practice develop new analytics propositions and offerings to the market; lead proposal development and participate in pitches
- Actively identifying and progressing business development opportunities related to Healthcare analytics products

Consulting and Commercial Skills

- Experience in a professional consulting practice or technical solutions development practice at a senior level.
- Direct experience of solution shaping and analytics development during pre and post sales
- Ability to develop a customer and sales pipeline to achieve practice level sales targets
- Ability to identify patterns, trends and long-term possibilities; creating and shaping a vision of the future that fits in with client’s long term objectives
- Core consulting skills including business process analysis, financial analysis, performance assessment, project management and risk assessment are desirable
- Ability to build and maintain strong networks both internally and externally and to forge effective partnerships for the continuous improvement of services.
- Ability to harness the full commitment and responsibility of key stakeholders. Strong influencing skills across a wide body of stakeholders.
- Resource and financial management skills to develop effective planning, financial management and reporting frameworks.
- Manage allocated resources effectively, delivering business performance and value for money.
