PowerBi Lead (6 - 12 months FTC)

A team comprising 5 team members, including the Deals CTO. This team manages a series of technology projects to be delivered to the Deal Advisory service line.
Will work alongside the technology team who work with our internal clients to review their current business processes and identify opportunities to optimise. We re-design the processes and implement technology solutions to run them in a more efficient, digital way. This saves our clients time and money, improves quality and scalability, and allows value to be unlocked from data.

The Role

The role will focus on the development of tooling within a strategic platform.
The PowerBI Lead will have the following high-level role responsibilities:

Growth platform
- Help drive DealTech collaborations around the Power BI area, through regular communications, team showcase events.
- Understand capability across the firm for all BI applications and positioning for PBI as strategic choice.
Engage business owners
- Drive a culture of continual improvement and leverage new functionality.
- Engage with senior leaders to understand their challenges, ideas, business strategies for growth and opportunities.
- Maintain and manage the pipeline of work for the Power BI team and related Data projects.
- Monitor the progress of projects through project delivery lifecycle

Manage Team
- Support the development of team members for core Power BI skills as well as project skills and related technology tools.
- Ensure that the team is collaborating with other automation areas, and particularly developing wider understanding of Data and architecture, and BAs to capture requirements clearly.
- Involve all team member into the capability growth objectives.
- Ensure resources are fully utilised on projects
Development standards
- Development standards and monitor adherence to them for our core Project

The Person
• Experience in several or all of the areas described above
• Skilled in data modelling across both operational (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) use cases
• Experience of Alteryx, Qlik, Tableau and the AWS and GCP platform stacks is an advantage
• Experience of working across end-to-end software development, technology or consulting projects (strategy, discovery, design, development and deployment)
• Experience explaining complex processes and circumstances in technical and non-technical terms to ensure all understand
• A talent for clear, concise communication and getting your point across, both verbal and in written format
• Experience in working with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and familiarity with the benefits and risks of each
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, handle quickly changing priorities, and be capable of managing yourself to achieve maximum results
• Strong stakeholder management with a history of building solid relationships with customers and team members
• Strong people skills, able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to support a working culture characterised by collaboration, continuous improvement and commitment to high performance
• Organised and meticulous, tenacious and consistent.
