Job Description
The Role

Our National DC Investment team sits within KPMG’s broader Pensions and Investment practice and has grown significantly over the last couple of years and is a key growth area for the business over the next few years. We are looking to strengthen the team with the addition of a Senior DC Investment Consultant with a real appetite to further develop their career in DC Investment and passion for delivering client services in this area.


The responsibilities of this role are wide ranging and varied. The attributes and experience we are seeking will mean that the successful applicant should be able to do the following:

- Offer support to the wider DC and investment teams in delivering a variety of projects within the required timescales.
- Oversee a portfolio of DC clients, delivering investment advice, ongoing investment governance and ensuring schemes continue to provide value for members
- Deal with queries from providers and clients over the telephone and email in a timely manner applying judgement as to when issues need to be escalated
- Develop relationships both externally and internally across the wider business
- Demonstrate ability to understand and develop market knowledge around trends, developments and product innovation taking place in the market
- Produce draft member communication materials working in conjunction with senior colleagues, clients, providers and other third parties
- Pro-active updating of the internal risk and compliance systems and files
- Support pension provider reviews, analyse tender responses and draft high quality summaries and reports, to include PowerPoint presentations where appropriate.
- Support the Head of DC Investment in managing the team, developing team members and recruiting to support the growth of the business
- Carry out provider, manager and product specific DC research to meet the changing needs of clients
- Support the senior DC team in responding to new business opportunities as well as looking to generate new opportunities directly
- Help raise the internal and external profile of the DC investment team via use of social media, speaking at seminars and forums and providing thought leadership

Qualifications and Skills

As a general rule, you’ll be expected to meet the following requirements:

- It is essential the successful applicant be a quick learner and have a pro-active approach to work and client relationships.
- Highly driven and focused
- Work cooperatively and can build positive, constructive business relationships.
- Be self -motivated and organises own workload to ensure effective delivery of engagements/project
- Take accountability for delivering high quality, accurate work
- Organised and self-motivated with a desire to work with colleagues from different parts of KPMG.
- Be able to delegate work effectively and provide necessary constructive feedback
- Self-confident person with an understanding of the need to present, debate and listen to both clients and colleagues
- Candidates will have passed the necessary professional examinations in order to give regulated investment advice as an Approved Person (eg. CFA, Actuarial, Investment Advice Diploma), whilst also ensuring annual maintenance of CPD
- Be able to demonstrate an ability to create an impact with clients and colleagues
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Be able to demonstrate an ability to learn new skills, organise own work, manage a number of on-going tasks successfully
