Job Description
KPMG PR Assistant Manager, Financial Services

KPMG has a busy, hand on, press office which manages a wide range of issues. Our team works to maximise positive coverage for KPMG and manage incoming enquiries. The successful candidate will work closely with the Financial Services senior manager and KPMG’s client facing teams across banking, insurance and asset management.

This role covers a broad range of issues from personal finance to fintech to regulation, with the opportunity to prioritise and lead the PR for areas of particular interest. We want someone who is motivated by results, who can juggle a varied workload and who can bring a creative approach to FS PR.

KPMG’s Financial Sevices practice is a high performing and high energy team; building a strong network and turning ideas into positive press coverage is the number one priority for the person in this role.

Like every member of the KPMG press office, the candidate would also get involved in the many high profile corporate announcements the firm manages.

Responsibilities
- Support all areas of FS with its profile, this includes banking, asset management and insurance
- Design and draft press plans, press statements, briefing notes and coverage reports
Tailor the firm’s global campaigns into content or the UK media
- Generate ideas for research and thought leadership that will build the firm’s reputation in priority areas
- Build a strong network both internally and with relevant journalists in trade and national press
- Support internal stakeholders with social media
- Work with the wider press team to manage firm-wide issues

Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in FS PR
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Confidence in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders
- A passion for generating coverage and a strong work ethic
- An ability to translate complex issues into meaningful communications
- Strong team-player
- Willingness to learn and build an understating of KPMG’s commercial agenda
- Adheres to the firm’s values
