Over the last decade we have undertaken key roles on high profile multi-billion pound projects and programmes across the UK, these include Crossrail 2, High Speed 2, Mersey Gateway, Northern Line extension and East West Rail.

Within the IAG Transport team, the Projects Team works with government and private sector clients on strategy development, business planning, project funding and financing, business case development and appraisal, and providing advice on transactions and major public procurements. Our biggest clients include Transport for London, Network Rail. HS2 Ltd and DfT.

The Role

Summary of Role Purpose:
In response to the increasing demand for advice surrounding major Government procurement programmes, we are seeking high calibre professionals with a track record of providing strategic, commercial and financial advice to transport, telecoms and digital and infrastructure clients.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing teams delivering transport project engagements.

Overseeing the development of financial models, commercial analysis, policy documents, reports, presentations, business cases and other client deliverables.

Building and maintaining relationships with clients.

Managing the development of proposals for new business and other business development initiatives.

Developing market intelligence and sector knowledge.

Leading effective project planning, delivery and closure.

Managing, mentoring and coaching junior staff

Supporting the development of new propositions to present to clients

Experience working for or with a transport / telecoms and digital / infrastructure advisory consultancy, transport / infrastructure operator, or in project development/delivery within government.

The ideal candidate would:

Have a good understanding of the governance and funding environment within which transport and infrastructure is delivered in the UK.

Have demonstrable experience developing and applying strategic, commercial and financial advice.

Have a keen interest in the UK transport and/or digital markets, which might include major transport and telecoms infrastructure procurement projects

Have strong writing skills to be able to draft sections of reports and other deliverables.

Have strong financial analytical skills and experience of building or reviewing cashflow financial models.

Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel for financial modelling and/or analysis, Microsoft Word for report writing and Microsoft PowerPoint for presentations.

Be commercially focussed.

Be able to contribute to the development of analytical solutions to client challenges, helping us to remain at the cutting edge of thinking in the sector.

Be comfortable in, and keen to experience, a client-facing role.

Have experience of managing people

Be a highly motivated, ambitious self-starter willing to take advantage of the opportunities this position offers.
