The Team

The Corporate Intelligence team is an expanding part of our Investigations and Compliance practice, and an integral part of KPMG Forensic. The team is made up of specialists with a range of regional and language expertise, and is focused on work in the EMEA region, Africa, Europe and Latin America.

We help clients to identify and manage a variety of reputational and regulatory risks through intelligence gathering and information analysis. We know where and how to access hard-to-find information, have detailed knowledge of the operating and political environments in a range of markets and are adept at analysing and interpreting findings within the context of our clients’ specific circumstances and requirements.
We have ambitious growth targets and are seeking experienced and talented individuals to join our expanding team.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Manager to join the Corporate Intelligence team to work on and manage a variety of engagements that help clients to prevent and mitigate reputational, regulatory and financial crime risks. Typically, projects will include transactional and ESG due diligence on counterparties, strategic intelligence and country risk assessments to support market-entry decisions, investigation and litigation support and regulatory compliance.

The role undertaken by the Manager will depend on the type and circumstances of each project. The candidate should expect to work on a variety of project-based work over a cross section of forensic work types, industries and geographies.

The main responsibilities for a Manager will typically include:
 Running projects spanning across an array of services (as noted above) from scoping to delivery, with minimal supervision from Directors and Partners;
 Training, managing and developing junior team members;
 Ensuring that client work is delivered to the highest quality standards;
 Ensuring that projects are delivered to deadline, within budget and in compliance with KPMG risk management protocols, regulatory obligations and ethical standards;
 Dealing directly with clients, internal stakeholders and Forensic leadership;
 Promoting a collaborative spirit, maintaining a positive attitude when working under pressure, and supporting team members;
 Identifying opportunities for developing business with new and existing clients across these services;
 Identifying opportunities for increased collaboration with other KPMG service lines and supporting internal and external marketing efforts;
 Overall, supporting the Corporate Intelligence leadership in managing and developing the practice (recruitment, performance appraisal, mentoring, thought leadership and marketing/BD).
The individual will be based in KPMG’s CSQ office working under KPMG’s hybrid working model of both home and office working.

The Person

Qualifications and Skills:
 Strong academic qualifications, ideally in politics, international relations, languages or other disciplines in social science;
 Fluency in at least one foreign language with the ability to conduct research and translate accurately;
 We are particularly interested in candidates with demonstrable expertise in investigation and litigation support and asset tracing.
Experience and Knowledge:
To succeed in this exciting role you will need to demonstrate the following experience and abilities:
 Excellent English communication skills, both written and oral;
 Strong project management skills, including overseeing work produced by junior colleagues;
 Technical knowledge of the regulatory drivers for our work, including key bribery and corruption laws and anti-money laundering laws;
 Strong project managerial skills;
 Experience of drafting reports and other deliverables suitable for presentation to a client;
 Ability to articulate complex and technical findings in both written and oral presentations for a variety of audiences;
 Strong people skills - ability to help others set their goals, inspire and develop junior colleagues;
 Confidence to be able to quickly establish credibility with clients;
 An enthusiasm to get involved in marketing activity and in developing the Forensic practice;
 Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, self-motivation and an enquiring mind
 Strong team working skills and the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure; and
 Ability to understand and manage the risks and financials associated with client engagement.
