We also see an opportunity in the market to offer non-powered procurement skills to our clients, and look to recruit a very talented person to help leadership set up and lead this offering, This will include the following key offerings:- category mgmt., consultancy services, managed services, contract life cycle mgmt. and capacity and capability.
The adoption of professional procurement consultancy skills continues at pace and we continue to see that most Procurement transformation programmes demand SME support, and every successful Procurement programme involves some ground-breaking activity. Complimentary to this is the offering of non-powered consultancy services
The Role
At KPMG’s highly successful Management Consulting practice, we’re working with Financial Services clients to help them understand how non-powered procurement consultancy services can drive business performance. As such, we’re looking for outstanding procurement SME to join us, grow with us, and develop our Procurement delivery capability, driving our strategy through large-scale Procurement transformation
Part of a developing team in Financial Services that will become our ‘go to’ for FS Non-Powered Procurement requirements, you will play a key role in the growing of our propositions to sell and deliver large programmes. At its core, this is a real opportunity to build our non-powered procurement delivery team and influence within a fast-growing business area.
Roles and Responsibilities
This is role requires a balance of business development, practice leadership and client delivery. The role reports into the Associate Director of Non-Powered Procurement.
In this role you will:
• Present KPMG Advisory offerings and ‘thought leadership’ to the market via agreed marketing channels
• Build our visibility in the Financial Services Procurement arena and originate new opportunities
• Define and create content that generates interest in our offerings for individual market segments
• Lead and deliver client engagements that identify, design, and implement creative business and technology solutions for large companies
• Work with client businesses throughout the project lifecycle by leveraging business performance improvement approaches and frameworks and helping to ensure timely execution of project deliverables
• Perform project management activities including: development and management of work plans, schedules and project budgets with innovative approaches
Depending on Client location you will be required to travel and work away from home for periods of time (UK, Europe and internationally), so will need to be willing to demonstrate flexibility.
The Person
We are looking for individuals with a proven track record of selling & delivering, procurement projects. We are looking for individuals who have led procurement programmes, developed client solutions and led sales opportunities from origination to close.
We are seeking a talented individual with experience of Procurement implementation. This is role requires a balance of business development, practice leadership and client delivery. The role reports into the Associate Director of Non-Powered Procurement.
To join us, therefore, you’ll need to be inquisitive and have a strong, informed point of view. Of course, this will need to be balanced with an unwavering client focus. You’ll have excellent listening skills, and a proven track record of helping Financial Services clients reach their desired outcomes
Essential Experience:
• Understand demand, identify and unlock client opportunities for Non-Powered Procurement in Financial Services by providing the procurement expertise to build compelling market propositions
• A deep knowledge of contract mgmt., Category management, and procurement operating models from policy to procedures and best practices in each
• Strong financial/commercial management skills, e.g. bid completions.
• The ability to build strong relationships at senior levels (c-suite), and a strong existing network
• The ability to communicate compelling and well thought out solutions to complex problems
Key Skills:
• Sales and Business Development
• A track record of client delivery, innovation and transformation within procurement functions at large FTSE/blue chip organisations
• Procurement, supply chain, contract & commercial mgmt.
• Leadership and relationship building
• A Procurement professional with a proven track record of successful delivery of procurement solutions in a consulting environment
• Persuasive power to communicate with a variety of partners in the organisation
• Excellent People Leadership
• Strong network in Financial Services Procurement
• Drive and resilience
• Presentation skills
• Other core consulting skills, including planning and delivering workshops, structured interviewing, process mapping, data gathering and analysis
• MCIPS/FCIPS (desirable)
